Decorating a hallway with bold colours and patterns is not one for the faint hearted.

When I googled ‘how to decorate a narrow Victorian hallway’, everything looked rather drab, with the sameish shades of white or half coloured walls, often in grey.
If going for neutral walls, one option would be to have a bold and colourful tiled floor. However, this would give less flexibility for change in the future.

The pinks in the petals are the perfect accent colour to the pink walls and stair runner.
When decorating with colour and patterns, I like to keep some neutral elements to prevent colour overload.
I’ve kept the ceilings, dado rails, door frames and skirting boards white as my neutral tone.
The white leaves in the wallpaper pattern also provides continuity with the white elements of the hallway.
