Hallway

Decorating a hallway with bold colours and patterns.

Decorating a hallway with bold colours and patterns is not one for the faint hearted.

Taking that leap of faith, by using colourful and boldly printed wallpaper, may seem daunting, but can really pay off.

By getting it right, you could create that instant wow factor that sets the tone for the rest of the house.

When I googled ‘how to decorate a narrow Victorian hallway’, everything looked rather drab, with the sameish shades of white or half coloured walls, often in grey.

If going for neutral walls, one option would be to have a bold and colourful tiled floor. However, this would give less flexibility for change in the future.

I love the idea of using wallpaper instead of just painting the walls.

The hallway is a high traffic area, and paint after a while, may become scuffed and marked.

I feel wallpaper in a hallway lasts longer and creates a more polished and finished look.

I’ve tried bold and colourful wallpaper for my hallway before, so this was an easier task for me.

Want to see the new wallpaper reveal? Keep strolling down. Here it is. what do you think?

I’ve decided to go for Lust Home’s Daisy Chain wallpaper in Cobalt blue and pink

The price per roll was £36.

I love that it’s an energised vibrant blue that feels happy without making the hallway feel narrower.

The pinks in the petals are the perfect accent colour to the pink walls and stair runner. When decorating with colour and patterns, I like to keep some neutral elements to prevent colour overload.I’ve kept the ceilings, dado rails, door frames and skirting boards white as my neutral tone. The white leaves in the wallpaper pattern also provides continuity with the white elements of the hallway.

Lust Home is newly launched wallpaper company that is like a breath of fresh air, with designs created in house by a talented team.

You can order samples online, and they get posted out quickly.

The samples come in folded sheets, in large enough sizes to judge the designs against the walls. There are so many choices of wallpaper and colour ways to suit all tastes.

I could have easily picked a few different designs for my hallway.

By using Lust Home’s wallpaper for my hallway, is a testament to how much I love the product.

The paper quality and print resolution is amazing too. It all went up easily.I’m so pleased with how it has turned out.

I think I’ve managed to create that wow, happy and polished look that I set out to do when decorating a hallway.

What do you think?

Hope you like it. Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead.
