A fresh Summer bloom from The Urban Flower company

Hello all! I previously posted about my talented local florist Matthew Richardson from The Urban Flower Company.

I revisited his store again to get some fresh blooms made up for a digital magazine collaboration. He made 2 floral arrangements for me, one of which I will show to you when published and the other is the pink beauty above.

A perfect Summer bouquet to cheer up the horrid grey and gloomy weather we’ve been experiencing in London.

Contained within a Mason jam jar are Issis roses, Cornflowers, Stocks, Bouvardias, Gelder roses and Fox gloves.

Matt’s floral arrangement is simply genius and like art. He tells me that he doesn’t follow a formula but is instinctive. I absolutely adore his use of layering, textures and vibrant colours. This is like my own little jar of the Chelsea flower show.

Wishing you all a beautiful week. x

  1. Hey Geraldine, this is gorgeous and really cheered up my PC on this extremely grey and rainy day! Thank you. I love the arrangement, it looks perfectly effortless but I know I could never re-create anything that stylish in a million years. Love it. Hope you have a great day. L x

It’s still grey and rainy. I might as well banish my Summer clothes to the attic 🙂 The floral arrangement I agree is amazing. He is a genius in what he does. xx

  2. Ah, how beautiful! I love wild arrangements like this!

  3. He’s really talented, what a nice bouquet – love the first pick against the brick wall. And how exciting are those news about an emag collaboration? Can’t wait to hear more about it!
You were really really missed at this year’s hive – how sad you couldn’t make it. But the weather was horrible and you didn’t miss anything that can’t be done another time as well.

Thanks Lena, I was looking forward to seeing you at the Hive. Maybe next time. Still want to come to Berlin one day, will look you up when I do. xx

  4. just beautiful! I thought my florist was talented but he’s a step ahead 😉 I love when bouquets don’t look too perfect … this could have been taken on a walk in the countryside ( but never arranged as good as he did). I look forward to learn more about the emag news. I am pretty excited for you 🙂 xx

Hi Ilaria, the emag will feature the florist and I’ve just done the photo shots.Happy weekend to you lovely x

  5. Hi Geraldine, he really is talented. I love the wild flowers he has chosen and the jar goes so well. xD

thanks Doris. I think the way he creates from instinct shows talent. No rigid set ways of arranging which many flower schools are apparently teaching nowadays – heard that from Shane Connolly last night. x

  6. Hi Geraldine, I’m catching up on your blog so sorry for the late comment. This floral arrangement is gorgeous. I love mixed bouquets. Yesterday I went to pick flowers at a flower farm. It’s my highlight of the week. Thanks for these photos, flowers always make me happy.

What a wonderful thing to do – go picking at a flower farm. Nothing like that in London xx
