Fairs

Autumn fair 2016 at Birmingham NEC.

Ark-colour-design-Autumn-fair-featured-on-Little-Big-BellIt’s been a while since I’ve attended a design and lifestyle fair, so I was super excited when asked to cover the Autumn Fair at Birmingham’s NEC next week.

The Autumn Fair will be showcasing 1400 exhibitors across the Home,Contemporary Gift and Living sectors. It will be running from the 4th to 7th of September 2016.

There will also be an inspirational programme of talks, workshops, fashion shows and tasty food to sample on site.

I am so looking forward to showing you my favourite finds and trend predictions for 2017.

I’ve already been exploring the list of exhibitors. With 1400 stalls to choose from, I thought I’d better be organised. I have mapped out the ones I would like to visit first.

I’ve decided to give you a little flavour here, of what you could expect at the Autumn Fair this year.

Introducing you first to Ark colour design . I was totally drawn to their beautiful and colourful leather products for parties and gifts.

Check out that leather hat above. I bet the party photos would look so cool and colourful.

They would make great going home gifts too, ones that will last the test of time.Pyro-pets-Autumn-fair-Little-Big-BellEvery now and then, I stumble upon something different, innovative and cool.

Pyro pet candles gave me that moment when I explored their site from the exhibitors’ list.

At first sight, you may coo at their cute pastel coloured animal shaped candles, but wait, this sweetness takes an unexpected twist.

As the candles burn and the wax melt, slightly sinister looking metal skeletons of those animals start to appear.

What do you think? Kind of an interesting concept right? A real theatre of macabre in wax.Paper-Whites-Artificial-Flowers- Rose- & -EucalyptusOne of the emerging trends of this season and going into 2017, is that for artificial flowers.

I say, if flowers have to be artificial, then let them be in paper.

Take a look at the paper flowers by Paper Whites above. Look so real don’t they? I can’t wait to see more.
Shepherd of SwedenI am looking forward to exploring the new ‘Home’ brands at the Autumn Fair this year.

Shepherd of Sweden certainly caught my eye for their cosy natural sheepskins and toasty wool cushions. Look at those inviting fluffy slippers too.

If ever I need to create a cosy Autumn feel at home, then the image above is how I would love it to be.By-Boo-Autumn-fair-2016Look at those cute little stools from By Boo , a wholesaler in homewares and accessories.

Do I spy a Crosley record player in the photo above? I’m in need of one of those, preferably one in pink. Why oh why did I ever give away my vinyl record collection?Illuminati Lighting-Autumn-fair-2016Every home needs a feature light this Autumn, preferably one with a touch of glamour.

How about this statement piece from Illuminati lighting ?Norse-shaving-kitFind inspiration for Christmas gift ideas early or stock your shop ready for festive shopping at the Autumn Fair.

I find buying gifts for my husband difficult, but I’m liking this grooming set from Norse , a new start up company.

That is quite some razor right? Love the whole festive feel of the packaging too.Jo-Malone-Autumn-fair-2016-Little-Big-BellThere will be many inspirational speakers at the Autumn fair. I am looking forward to hearing Jo Malone talk about her brand building story, both the highs and lows.Autumn-fair-2016Hope I’ve been able to give you a flavour of what the Autumn Fair will be like. Do go explore for yourself. It’s a perfect place to start if you are thinking about starting a Home and lifestyle shop.

I’m looking forward to discovering more new talent on the day. This is just the tip of the iceberg.

I will be reporting back here on the blog soon, after the event.

Wishing you all a wonderful day.
