It’s that time of the year, when Summer is gradually coming to a close, to make way for the cosiness of Autumn and Winter.

I must admit I love Spring and Summer best, but I do get excited by the seasonal change, because I get to curate and share my new interiors trend predictions here.

Many of you who follow me on the blog, may recall that I have been an ambassador for the Spring and Autumn fair for the past 2 years.

I was excited to be asked to report from Autumn Fair, the largest Home and Gift UK trade fair again. There will be more than 1300 suppliers present, divided into 12 sectors, and will be taking place at Birmingham’s NEC, from 3rd September to 6th September 2017.

I will be providing coverage from the show, on my instagram and insta stories on the Sunday.

Visitors who attend are usually retailers, homeware buyers and trend spotters. There will also be workshops, seminars, meet the expert talks and even fashion catwalks at the show.

This coming season, I foresee the increase in dark and colourful interiors. The dark walls ( think midnight blue and black) has been trending for a while, and I see these backdrops contrasted with bright pops of colours becoming more popular in the coming months.

The colours, although bright, will take the form of Autumnal tones, such as Copper reds / browns, Purple hues in grape or mauve, Pinks that are dusky or almost rust coloured and Mandarin blues.

I have curated the furniture and homewares from 6 exhibitors who have caught my eye, the first of which is Zuiver (image above).Zuiver is a Dutch interior label with their own in house design team. They pride themselves in producing products that are contemporary, on trend, and with a fresh and young approach.

I’m totally smitten by their carpet collection (last 2 images). The patterns on the rugs were inspired by Norwegian sweaters. I call them boho rugs with a Scandinavian twist. Aren’t they just beautiful?
If you find painting a wall dark too daunting, then getting pieces of furniture with pops of Autumnal hues, can do the trick too, for a seasonal decor. The above Copper plated cantilever frame chair is also from Zuiver.I am forever a pink fan. The Autumn period call for dusky and rust coloured hues. My sofa is a perfect example here.

Check out that wonderful pairing of Zuiver’s grey and pink dining chairs with indoor greens. You could pair your dusky pink cushions against a dark throw, like this anthracite quilt, if you wanted to keep on trend, without having to paint your walls black.

The quilt and pillows are from IB LAURSEN, one of Scandinavia’s biggest wholesale suppliers of decor. They will also be at the Autumn Fair 2017.Here’s another lovely combination I would consider, an Aubergine coloured quilt, paired with the dusky pink cushions. Now that I have mentioned Aubergine, what do you think of this velvet sofa? It would be the perfect pop of Autumn Winter bright against a dark wall.

I would then accessorise the room with hints brass to give it that luxury glamour chic look.

The sofa is from Cozy living, a young interior brand from Copenhagen. If purple is not your thing, then how about the same sofa in a Petrol blue?

Did you notice that the stylist has placed blue against blue?

I think it has worked well here, without being camouflaged, because the lighter coloured decorative accessories have been able to draw our eyes towards the sofa.Doesn’t this dining room look elegant but cosy?Which Autumn Winter hues do you favour?

All the colours of these Cozy Living cushions seem to mix and match well. These brightly coloured face cushions from spira of Sweden, may be a slight detour away from Autumnal tones, but I never say no to brights and just look at those gorgeous illustrations.

This is now on my wish list. I can just imagine how I would style them in my living room.I’m looking forward to visiting spira of Sweden at the Autumn Fair next weekend. Doesn’t this fabric look so dreamy and magical? If I were designing a nursery room now, I would consider purchasing this.I clearly have a passion for colourful Scandinavian design, as I’ve just realised that my last 3 curates for this UK trade fair, were Scandinavian brands.

This next brand, Magpie, although not Scandinavian, has produced a beautiful ceramic ware collection called Form, inspired by the 60s, that look Scandinavian.

They reminded me of the Norwegian vintage Cathrineholm ceramics.

You will be able to find Magpie’s Form range at the Cubic stall, in the Autumn Fair.Last but not least, I realised I haven’t touched on lighting.

I was instantly drawn to these Matcha green Haipot pendant lights by Dyberg Larsen. The pendants come in a variety colours.Feast your eyes on the colours. I would love a cluster in green, yellow, pink and orange. Which one do you favour?

Hope you’ve enjoyed my curate of this UK trade fair, the Autumn Fair 2017. What I’ve curated is  just the tip of the iceberg. I can’t wait to explore more brands next weekend.

Do follow my Instagram and insta stories next Sunday to see my finds.

Wishing you all a wonderful Bank holiday Monday and week ahead.

( All photography are from the relevant brands. This is a sponsored collaboration with Autumn Fair 2017, a UK Trade fair for homewares and gifts. However, all curated finds and views are my own).
