NESCAFÉ Azera A happy and positive breakfast with pancakes and NESCAFÉ Azera.

Being a full time doctor, mother and blogger, means that I’m often in a rush.

Mornings tend to be the most difficult time of day, as I’m having to multitask with the school runs, and then get to work at the hospital. Weekends are no better, as I’m having to focus full time on my styling and photography work for the blog. Most mornings, I don’t even have time to sit down for coffee.

Even though I believe that a positive start to the morning can improve the rest of my day, I’ve not had time to act on it, until now.
I decided that in order to bring more positivity to my morning, I would start by making small changes. My first change being, allocating time in the weekend to sit together as a family for breakfast.

I now realise that a well thought of, and beautifully presented breakfast can have a better impact on my family’s mood, than the usual scenario of cereal eaten in a hurry. Having time for breakfast together, has made us bond even closer as a family unit.
Pancakes I enlisted the help of my husband, the pancake making supremo, to make his famous buttermilk pancakes.

I then topped the pile of pancakes with some fresh organic yoghurt, fruits and edible flowers.  I’ve used the new NESCAFÉ Azera limited edition tins, that have been designed to evoke positivity by art students, as the inspiration for my breakfast table styling.
If you are unsure on how to inject positivity to your breakfast table, you could try using fresh colourful flowers, as a first step. A happy and colourful table evokes positivity.
Here’s a view from the top.
I think the design of the tins have been so effective, because their vibrant use of colours.

The fresh citrus tones come across as energising, and the bold use of patterns evoke a renewed sense of confidence. What would you do if you could wake up to something wonderful, new or exciting? I would love to hear your thoughts.

Furniture and wall stickers for home decor. How to freshen up a home on a budget.

Redecorating a home needn’t be expensive. I thought I’d show you how you could freshen up a space with furniture and wall stickers from Pixers.

I’ve been wanting to paint the risers of my staircase for a while, but the thought of sanding and painting filled me with dread. I wasn’t mentally prepared for the mess, so when I found out about Pixerstick stickers, I decided to experiment with them on my stairs.

The wonderful thing about these wall stickers are that they are removable and gentle to the paint below.  I decided on a pastel palette. The stickers were all sent to me pre cut. What do you think of the new look? I also ordered stickers for my children’s desk at home. Check out this colourful print I used for my son’s IKEA desk. It matches the art prints on the wall well, don’t you think? Doesn’t this just feel like a happy space to work now? Here’s another view. wall stickers I’ve decided to use the same IKEA desk to style a different look. This time, I placed a marble effect sticker on the other side of the table surface. Great to be able to create 2 looks using one piece of furniture.

There are so many possibilities and you can completely transform a relatively inexpensive piece of furniture, like I have here. Doesn’t the marble sticker look so real? This is now the perfect table top for instagram flat lays.

Hope you’ve enjoyed this little DIY post with furniture and wall stickers, complete with an IKEA hack. Have a lovely day.

6 ways to style a kid’s room on a budget. Best of Pinterest award 2017 shortlisted.

It was a pleasure to be recently asked by new homes builder, Keepmoat, to create some photos for their home inspiration gallery.

The request came at the perfect time, because I was planning on giving my son’s room a little Spring refresh.

Coincidentally I have also recently received wonderful news that I’ve been shortlisted for 3 Best of Pinterest award, including Best Kids bedroom, workspace and kitchen 2017.

Ever since I started blogging 4.5 years ago, my son’s room have undergone a series of makeovers.

I always do it on a small budget, changing around a few accessories such as wall prints, cushions, duvet covers and bed throws. You will see what I mean as you scroll through the images. This is his nautical theme room using predominantly primary colours and stripes. I have styled this room in blue and yellow hues to match the round rug I was sent all the way from Australia. This bedroom was styled in a British Icons theme. As you can see, the duvet cover has images of London buses and taxis. This was his Christmas bedroom. Think ‘Home Alone’ style, but an updated version.
This is one of my favourites, and the pin that has been nominated for the Pinterest award.

It is bright and sunny, so the perfect place to visit on a dreary British Winter’s day.
kid's room on a budget Finally, here are a few sneak peeks of the new bedroom refresh that I have created for Keepmoat’s inspiration gallery.
I have written my 4 steps to an affordable Spring refresh for a boy’s bedroom over on Keepmoat. The tips will be live next week, so do check back.

Hope you’ve enjoyed browsing through this post on ‘6 ways to style a kid’s room on a budget’. Have a wonderful day.
