Clonette doll – styled by Little Big Bell.

Clonette-doll-photo-by-Little-Big-BellThis sweet little Clonette doll was sent to me a while back, and I’ve been meaning to style it up. I haven’t had a chance until now.

So what are Clonette dolls? They originated in Ghana during the colonial era and were apparently the first industrially produced dolls in Africa.

They were inspired by traditional woven dolls made from wood and fabric.Clonette-doll-with-red-shoes-photo-by-Little-Big-BellThey are usually produced as brightly coloured dolls from recycled plastic, so the one I received was extra special as it was made from porcelain.

This porcelain version has been made by Dutch sisters Lammers & Lammers.

I placed a pink sweet pea, my favourite flower, where her little heart was.Clonette-doll-styled-and-photo-by-Little-Big-BellShe was then placed into a beautiful floral garden of pastel hues.

Love her golden bunny and that blue and white porcelain pigeon on her head.Lammers-and-Lammers-Clonette-doll-styled-and-photographed-by-Little-Big-BellSweet shiny red shoes.
