Farrow & Ball 1940s inspired wallpaper collection

teal-turquoise-wallpaper-called-enigma-by-farrow-and-ball-styling-and-photo-copyright-of-little-big-bellA series of Farrow & Ball 1940s inspired wallpaper collection has been released to celebrate their 70th anniversary.

I was delighted to be asked to celebrate with them, by baking a birthday cake, to be styled against one of these newly launched wallpapers.farrow-and-ball-wallpaper-collection-1970s-photo-and-styling-by-geraldine-tan-little-big-bellHere is the chocolate brownie cake I baked for Farrow & Ball, displayed on a bright yellow cake stand. What do you think?

I styled my cake against my selected Farrow & Ball 1940s inspired wallpaper called Enigma, in a teal blue / turquoise tone. Enigma was the name derived from the encoding machine famously deciphered by British mathematician Alan Turing during World war II.

The colour is both stunning and visually calming don’t you think?  I’m loving the bold and elegant interlocking rectangular patterns too.

I specifically chose this wallpaper for its bright and bold hues. I wanted to create a room that would light up against the dark Autumnal days, whilst still maintaining a cosy feel.chocolate-brownie-cake-photo-by-little-big-bell-blogI decided to style my cake with colourful marzipan fruits and beautiful Autumnal blooms.

I wanted to evoke that feeling of seasonal change with celebratory brights, rather than with the usual dark moody tones associated with Fall.

This colourful palette forms my 2016 Farrow & Ball Autumn mood board that can be translated into an interior setting. I created an Autumn mood board in 2015 too, if you fancy checking it out.farrow-and-balls-70th-anniversary-cake-photo-by-little-big-bellThe Enigma wallpaper comes in a variety of colour ways. Do check out the full range of Farrow & Ball 1940s inspired wallpaper collection.

Hope you’ve enjoyed seeing my colourful creation. Once again, wishing Farrow & Ball a wonderful 70th anniversary.

Farrow and Ball is such a wonderful brand Susie. I love everything they have. If only I could have more rooms to decorate with.

  7. The cake looks amazing – as does the wallpaper. The colour of the flowers sets off the wallpaper design.
