ghd platinum styler for London Fashion week 2015.

Instagram-@stylewithjj-featured-on-Little-Big-BellWhen I was asked by ghd to try out their latest hair styler, the ghd platinum styler, I was more than happy to oblige.

Unsurprising, since my daughter and I have very long hair.

The styler is perfect for straightening hair, giving it a glossy look, but we wanted to create something more dramatic.

The above photo is of my daughter at London Fashion week 2014, after having her hair straightened with I believe the older version styler called the ghd Eclipse.

We decided to try out a few looks in anticipation for London Fashion week 2015.ghd-platinum-styler-Little-Big-BellSo, we enlisted the help of Frederico Patelli, one of the senior stylists at Toni and Guy for a fashion fix.

Incidentally, Frederico is also one of the main stylists for the London Fashion week 2015 shows.

He is a busy man, as London Fashion week is nearing. He told me that the Mullet is the new ‘in’ hairdo. It was great to watch and learn from an expert.

After application of the ghd heat protect spray, he set off to work.  He gripped sections of hair with the styler and then wrapped the hair around. After a few seconds, he gently released the pressure on the plates, as the hair slid off into curls.

He then braided a section of hair on the opposite side directed towards the curls.ghd-platinum-styler-hair-makeover-@stylewithjj-photo-by-Little-Big-BellHere’s the end result. Super cute right?

My colourful Minted print has come in handy as a backdrop for the photograph.

The wonderful thing about the ghd platinum is that the plates align with no gaps, this is due to its wishbone hinge. It grips the hair well and doesn’t pull when the styler moves. In fact, the movement is a seamless glide.

It also has an intelligent tri-zone technology with three sensors in each plate, ensuring the temperature delivered to the hair is maintained consistently, so kinder to hair.

I always have a dread of accidentally leaving the styler on. The cool thing about this styler, is that it has an automatic sleep mode.

Quay-Australia-sunglasses-on-@stylewithjj-on-Little-Big-BellHere she is in her Quay Australia sunglasses with the new hair do.

Actually, both mother and daughter are obsessed with Quay Australia sunglasses at the moment. We are amounting quite a collection.Hair-styling-with-GHD-Platinum-styler-Toni-and-Guy-photo-by-Little-Big-BellFrederico styled a second look. This time an edgy and cool, yet casual look.

He released the previous plaits and curled that side with the platinum styler too.

Then after brushing through the curls on both sides , he backcombed the hair to create volume.

He created a bouffant effect up top by backcombing and securing with hairclips and hairspray. Then using wax, he flattened her hair by both temples.

So the look has a wet-dry texture with a fullness up top, that tapers at the temples, and then fans out like a mane. Her hairstyle certainly goes with her Adidas attire, cool and edgy but casual.
Here’s another angle.

Hope you’ve enjoyed the post. Will be back with more.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Thank you Abbie. I never knew you could do so many styles with the ghd stylers either. Not just your everyday straighteners right? Have a good weekend and thanks for visiting x
