Living Room

Luxury decor for a colourful home. My top tips for transforming a space for a glamorous lifestyle.

luxury decorLuxury decor often brings to mind a minimalist home with a neutral palette and the occasional touches of gold and sparkly bling.

But what if you love colour?

Lottoland have compiled their own tips for people who win lotteries, but they have also asked me for my top tips for transforming a colourful space for a jet set glamorous lifestyle.

So, this is what I have come up with:

1. Invest in original colourful art.

If budget is not a limiting factor, then investing in some original artwork that you love, would instantly add that touch of luxury to the space.

As you can see, I have a few beautiful vibrant hand drawn pieces on my living room wall ( image above). They perfectly compliment the pops of colours in the room’s decor.

2. Unique Vintage pieces that add glamour.

Vintage pieces are often a good bet, because they can be rare, one of a kind, and rustle up memories of glamorous eras gone by.

Luxury decor is not all about ‘New’. In fact more people are now increasingly conscious of the environment, and vintage is a great way of being sustainable in the way we decorate.

I have 2 beautiful vintage crystal chandeliers, won at auction, in my reception rooms. These chandeliers once adorned the room of an amazing stately home.luxury decor

3. Scented candles that transport you to lands afar.

A luxury scented candle gives you that instant sense of luxury escapism. It’s amazing how a scent can make you feel like you are somewhere else.

The Acqua di Parma brand candles transports you to the sunny lands of Italy.

4. Flowers always scream luxury.

A gorgeous bouquet, like the one I have above, can easily elevate a space from norm to luxe.

5. Luxury in the kitchen.

Nowadays, the kitchen is the hub of many homes. A few simple updates, can really heighten its feel into luxury.

Brass or gold hardware is a quick and simple trick. I have opted for brush brass cabinet hardware.

Adding a waterfall effect work surface to a central island, for example for by using luxury materials like marble or granite, can give the kitchen an instant wow factor.

6. Get a roll top bath.

A freestanding roll top bath adds an instant jet set hotel lifestyle feel to the home.

Finally, have some wonderful Luxury bath and body products in the bathroom to set the scene.

So, there you go. A few tips on how to add some luxury decor to create that luxury lifestyle feel in a colourful home to make you feel like a millionaire.

Have a lovely day all.
