Mob hotel of the people – a cool, creative and affordable place to stay in Paris.

When a Paris hotel door looks this cool and instagram worthy, I knew I was on to a winner.

Introducing you to Mob hotel of the people, the brainchild of Cyril Aouizerate.Cyril wanted to create a poly-sensory hotel, that has hospitality at its heart, and one that embraced creativity.

His vision soon captured the imagination of highly successful entrepreneurs, such as the founder of AOL, Steve Case and designer Philippe Starck, who both joined his venture.Mob hotelThe hotel, easily accessible via metro, is located in the Northern Parisian suburb of St Ouen.

It is a stone’s throw away from the famous Parisian flea market, Marché aux Puces de St Ouen. There were many quirky cool design elements in the hotel, like this door number that looked like a book page.mob hotel of the peopleMy bed was a theatrical stage, complete with shadow puppets to create my own show. I wished my children were with me. They would have loved this. There was no conventional wardrobe in sight, instead clothes and the mirror were hung on hooks attached to a wooden rail on the wall.I must admit, when I was in Paris, it rained a lot. I actually narrowly missed the flooding that occurred there recently by a day.

There was a short window of opportunity to go out into my room balcony to snap this photo. I bet it would be lovely to have breakfast here during the Spring and Summer. There was a mix of vintage and modern at Mob hotel of the people.

Isn’t this vintage peacock chair spotted at the hotel’s lobby so cool?

Now that I’ve mentioned the vintage, I have to tell you about the brilliant modern element to the hotel. The latter being a mobile phone in my room that I could take out with me.

The mobile phone was free for local calls and internet access.

There were also apps on the phone, with a curated collection of local places to visit, shop and eat.

So forward thinking don’t you think? This is a corner of the hotel’s restaurant, where a daily breakfast selection of freshly baked breads, juice, homemade jams, french cheese and cold meats were served.

The restaurant also served an organic and seasonal menu for lunch and dinner using local produce. The pizza that I had one night was absolutely delicious.

At the centre of the restaurant, was an eight a side football table which encouraged guests to mingle with a fun match.

There was also a live DJ on certain nights for those who enjoy partying. You may have spotted the restaurant curtain in the previous image. Here is a close up view of it. How many famous faces do you recognise?Take a peek at the hotel shop that sells a curated collection of independent brands. Here’s a little exterior view of the hotel. There is a huge outdoor cinema and ping pong table in the grounds. There are also two additional large rooftop sun terraces with lots of lounging seats.I think I’ll have to return in the Summer, to truly experience the outdoor vibe. Judging by what I’ve already experienced in the Winter, I can imagine that Summer will be full of fun.Saw this outside the hotel. Not quite sure what it was there for, but kids seem to enjoy playing with it, pretending to ride a horse.

Hope you’ve enjoyed reading my little review of Mob hotel of the people. I have another post coming up soon, showing you the most colourful place to instagram in Paris. Can’t wait to show you.

Wishing you all a lovely week ahead.
