Olympus PEN E-PL9 A review of my new camera.

I am embarrassed to say that I’ve had this limited edition denim blue Olympus PEN E-PL9 camera since last June, but haven’t had a chance to use it.

I tend to do wide angle shots for my interiors photography, but hadn’t got round to buying a wide angle lens for my PEN E-PL9.

One Bank holiday many years ago, I learned how to shoot with my DSLR camera in manual mode, and have never looked back since.

As it was a bank holiday this weekend, it prompted me to try out my Olympus PEN E-PL9.I haven’t any test shots to show you yet, but I thought I’d let you know how it went.

At first I was a bit apprehensive, as it was very different to my traditional camera. However, I felt it got easier after some trial and error.

I certainly think there is more to this camera than meets the eye. I will be enrolling on a half day course to get more out of it.So, what do I like about this Olympus PEN E-PL9 ?

First of all, there is no denying that the design and colour is super gorgeous right? I also like how comfortable my hand feels as I grip the smooth rounded contour of its body.

I’m pleased to say that the autofocus is very fast compared to my old clunky camera.

You can articulate the screen up to ninety degrees, which means that you can shoot at all angles without having to contort your back or neck.

I can now do flat lay shots without having to bend over. Don’t you hate it when you are too slow to react to a moving shot?

The Olympus PEN E-PL9 can allow you to react quickly with a touch of the screen.

It can also be tricky taking photos when you yourself are moving right?

The wonderful thing is that the Olympus PEN E-PL9 can capture a sharp image by stabilising it.

I’ve seen it in action and it’s amazing.Do you find yourself sometimes squashed into a corner because you need a wider angle shot?

Well, you can control your shot remotely with the Olympus PEN E-PL9.

All you need to do is to set your camera in position and control everything using your phone at a different location via wifi or bluetooth.

Finally, last but not least, I’ve always been jealous at how people can transfer their DSLR quality photos to post instantly on their phone. Well, I no longer have to be, because the wifi feature of the Olympus PEN E-PL9 means that I can do that too.

Hope you’ve enjoyed my little round up of this cool camera. I still have lots to learn and will show you the images once I get better at it.

( The Olympus PEN E-PL9 was a gift to me from Olympus UK)
