Burning Man photographic prints from Lumitrix.
Curating art work and creating gallery walls are one of my favourite things to do, so when Lumitrix asked me to pick and style one of their photographic prints at home, it was an instant yes.
Lumitrix not only sells beautiful handpicked photographic prints, it is also a great online platform that acts as a springboard, to give new talents and established photographers the desired publicity and exposure.
The print that caught my eye (above) is called “Burning Man” and it’s by Helene Sandberg. I love how the sky in the photo has created an ombré blue effect against the gold of the desert sand. Then there is that cute vibrant pop of yellow from the van.
I was curious about the name ‘Burning man’, so I did a bit of research which led me to an interesting discovery of the story behind the image. Burning Man is apparently an annual festival in the Nevada desert, that celebrates creativity and individuality. Apparently throughout the year, a city in this desert called Black Rock is being built in preparation for the gathering. I’ve checked out some of the You tube videos on the festival. The event governed by 10 main principles, appear breathtakingly beautiful, but also quirky and bizarre. It would be an awesome experience to attend one of these events some day. My ‘Burning Man’ print came beautifully framed and mounted. The prints are available to order in a variety of sizes and frames . Lumitrix cuts out that traditional art gallery ‘middle man’, making these pieces of artwork more accessible to the public and at affordable prices. I love how my print is now a focal point in one of my living rooms at home. It really compliments the blue of my sofa well don’t you think? I’ve always gone for illustrated or screen printed artwork . It’s so refreshing to decorate with art photographic prints. It has actually inspired me to create some photographic artwork of my own. Do have a browse on Lumitrix. They don’t just stock pretty photos, but inspiring images that tell a story.
Hope you have enjoyed the post. Wishing you a wonderful weekend ahead.
