Remodelista market in London – November 2014

Remodelista-market-London-photo-by-Geraldine-Tan-Little-Big-BellIt was rather grey in London this Saturday, but no fear, rays of sunshine were to be had at the Remodelista market.

This was Remodelista’s one day curated shopping event, bringing local designers and creators under one roof.

It was held in The New Craftsmen building. The New Craftsmen works with a selection of Britain’s finest craft makers, many of whose products were selected for this showcase sale.

I couldn’t help admiring the colour block Cashmere socks in the photo above by Esk, the perfect Winter cosy.

They definitely brought that required sunshine cheer. Coincidentally, the sun did come out when I took the shot.

macrame-pot-hangers-photo-by-Little-Big-BellMacrame plant holders are definitely making a come back this season and likely into Summer.

The ones above are by Gina Marris.

Geoffrey-Fisher-Design-skipping-ropes-Remodelista-markey-photo-by-Geraldine-Tan-of-Little-Big-BellHow cheerful are these for skipping? I’ll have a sunny yellow one please.

They are all handmade by Geoffrey Fisher.

Aimee-Betts-Remodelista-Market-photo-by-Little-big-BellI had fun rummaging through the old wooden drawers at the back of the building, which housed samples of work from the New Craftsmen makers.

The textile braid above is by Aimee Betts.

Silvia-K-ceramics-colour-palette-photo-by-Little-Big-BellA wonderful surprise in another drawer, the bright colour palette used by Silvia K ceramics.

Silvia-K-Remodelista-market-photo-by-Little-Big-BellTalking about Silvia K, here hanging on the shelf, are some of her ceramic platters, in gorgeous, broad painterly strokes.

Above them, are the beautiful glasses by Michael Ruh. My favourite ones are those in citrus hues.

Silvia-K-bowl-Remodelista-market-photo-by-Little-Big-BellHere’s the Silvia K bowl I bought. Yellow and green, the perfect combination.

Native-and-co-Remodelista-market-photo-by-Little-Big-BellNative & Co did a great job styling their table. The utilitarian products they sold were handcrafted by makers from Japan and Taiwan.

Nom-Nom-chocolates-Remodelista-market-photo-by-Little_Big_BellI just could not walk away from these chocolates, especially not when they were called Nom Nom.

The flavours such as Wild Plum, Winter Pear and Blackberry and apple crumble were already fuelling the temptation, but when I saw the colourful foil wraps, the 5 bars above became mine. For Christmas gifting of course!

There were indeed many talents under one roof. Others I also liked include the illustrated plates by Laura Carlin , the hand dyed velvet cushions by Kirsten Hecktermann, ceramic ware by Stuart Carey and beautiful Irish linen from 31 Chapel Lane.

Hope you’ve enjoyed my little tour of the Remodelista market. A really successful event and I can’t wait for the next one.

Wishing you all a happy start to your week!
