Stylist Live in London 2015.

Stylist-live-2015-photo-by-Little-Big-BellA fortnight ago, I was given a ticket to attend the Stylist live event at the Business Design Centre in Islington.

I must admit, I was absolutely thrilled, since I love reading the Stylist magazine so much.The-Stylist-magazine-cover-by-Rob-Ryan-photo-by-Little-Big-BellThe programme over 4 days consisted of a whole host of talks by prominent celebrities, such as Nigella Lawson, Salman Rushdie, Helmsley & Helmsley, Davina Mc Call, Yotam Ottolenghi and many more.

There were creative sessions from cookery to styling, empowering seminars from pitching to magazines,to kickstarting a portfolio career.

Running alongside were also fashion shows and sessions with beauty experts.

The list goes on. . . .

Unfortunately, I was only there for a short period, so did not manage to attend the talks.

I will definitely be more prepared next year.Stylist-magazine-Kylie-Minogue-on-Little-Big-BellI love these Stylist covers featuring Kylie Minogue. It’s called Lucky and was shot by William Baker in 2012.

I was interested to learn that Stylist asked 25 fashion designers to create 25 bespoke looks for Kylie. A celebration of her being in the charts for 25 years.

Interesting to see all the interpretations. One of the resulting shots later made it to the cover of her album The Best of Kylie Minogue in June 2012.Balloons-The-Stylist-magazine-event-London-photo-by-Little-Big-BellBalloons and pink, two of my favourites. I’m liking the ombre effect of this backdrop.

Definitely a place to stop by for fashion conundrums.Sophia-Webster-wing-stilettos-at-Stylist-live-photo-by-Little-Big-BellIsn’t that white Sophia Webster Evangeline heels with the wings so pretty? I’m liking that green snakeskin embossed Beaumont stiletto on the bottom shelf too. It is from Kurt Geiger.

Great to see a mix of designer with high street brands on the Stylist’s shelves.Stylist-live-curated-necklace-photo-by-Little-Big-BellMesmerised by this colourful sparkle? I certainly was, as I analysed the colour palette of emerald, mint, dusky pink, sapphire blue and bold orange.Yull-shoes-on-Little-Big-BellI forgot to mention that this event was not just all fashion shows and talks.

In fact, you could literally shop till you drop, or until you’ve broken the bank.

I wanted to buy the mint and pink heels above from Yull, but unfortunately they didn’t have my size.

I met Sarah Watkinson-Yull, the creative director, and she told me that she could make them bespoke in a variety of colour combinations. Now, that is tempting!Uzma-Bozai-photo-by-Little-Big-BellI stopped by at Uzma Bozai’s stand and proceeded to buy one of their beautifully designed bib necklaces that was adorned with a variety of stones.

The poster above gives you a gist of what their fashion collection is about.Sophie-hulme-envelope-bag-on-Little-Big-BellNow I’m blushing as I reveal further what I bought.

I have admired Sophie Hulme’s handbag collection for a while. When I saw this bubble gum pink mini envelope handbag, I knew it had my name all over it.

Not sure what was in the air that day, but I have always shied away from bold animal prints on shoes. These classic French Sole pumps in leopard print designed by Jane Winkworth won my heart over. Kith-and-kin-photo-by-Little-Big-BellIt was a delight to see homewares on sale at the event too.

Love these lamp shades from Kith and Kin.Kith-and-Kin-at-Stylist-live-photo-by-Little-Big-BellAnother design from Kith and Kin. Very on trend with the still popular pineapples and botanicals.Birchbox-stylist-collaborationBirchbox has also collaborated with Stylist for their October box filled with cosmetics. You can find out more here.Meringue-girls-photo-by-Little-Big-BellThe colourful meringues from the Meringue girls are always a visual delight.

Had I the time,I would have so loved to attend their masterclass on making edible flower lollipops at the event.Pearl-and-groove-at-the-Stylist-event-photo-by-Little-Big-BellBefore I wrap up this blog post, I simply had to show you some delicious new finds.

These yummy cakes are from Pearl and Groove.Crosstown-doughnuts-photo-by-Little-Big-BellThese spiced Bramley apple and pear crumble doughnuts are from Crosstown.Portobello-road-gin-photo-by-Little-Big-BellPortobello Road Gin, a blend of 9 botanicals, wins for its cool display. I’m liking the sound of Juniper, citrus, nutmeg and a peppery finish.

Hope you have enjoyed this post. Have a great start to your week.

What a fabulous fashion event I would have enjoyed it too & will look out for the next one. I find I’m hankering after something pink to wear such as a dusky pink top maybe- for the ‘more mature’ woman and I’m sure it’s your influence – love the pink balloons and the pink bag!
