Sustainable bedding from The Fine Bedding company

sustainable beddingThe Fine Bedding Company (since 1912)  offers sustainable bedding that is luxurious yet machine washable.

I’ve managed to get hold of their duvet and pillows to try out.

They have traded and supplied to the hospitality industry for 4 generations.  Supplying bedding to hotels where the demand for quality, comfort and resilience is a requirement, is no easy task.

However, they have survived the test of time, a likely testament to their dedication, passion and innovation in that industry.sustainable beddingAbove is The Fine Bedding company’s Breathe all seasons duvet in a double and 2 pillows in my bedroom.

The duvet comprise of their special Smartfil fibres, made from 100% recycled PET plastic bottles. The fibres use a blend of very fine polyester that traps air more than normal polyester, so 25% lighter than normal bedding fillings.

The duvet is a blend of their Smartfil technology and Modal, derived from wood pulp that is very breathable.

Modal helps to wick moisture away from the body, keeping a comfortable temperature for a good night’s sleep.sustainable beddingThe duvet comes in two pieces which you can clip together for warmth in the Winter, or use just one for the warmer seasons.

I’m one who loves sleeping with the soft comfort of a duvet, no matter the season.

This weekend was the perfect time to try out the duvet and pillows, since we’ve been experiencing a mini heatwave here in the U.K.sustainable beddingThe pillows had the right bounce and firmness to support my head and neck.

I’m very fussy when it comes to pillows, because neck pain from an uncomfortable pillow can set you up for a miserable working day.

The breathable pillow from The Fine Bedding Company passed the comfort test, and my head felt cool despite the humidity. The Breathe all season’s duvet is super light like a feather and was cosy to snuggle up to.

I was pleasantly surprised at how well it regulated the temperature for me for a comfortable night’s sleep.sustainable beddingLast but not least, a few more words about this brand’s sustainable bedding credentials, something very close to their heart.

Their aim is to become a B-Corp, which is a business that meets the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance.

They have done a lot so far, such as a zero waste policy in their eco factory, recycling any leftover fillings into making teddy bears.

Their factory also uses 100% renewable energy and have invested in technology that has reduced their energy consumption.

All sounds great doesn’t it?
