AD. Now that it’s Winter, my attention is turning towards making the bedrooms as cosy and warm as possible. I’ve been on the hunt for a super light and warm duvet for my son’s bedroom for a while.

His bedroom seems to be the coldest part of the house. I’ve bought him different duvets in the past, but for some reason, they have not kept him warm. I’m having to tuck him in bed nightly with warm fleecy blankets.

When I read about Penelope Bedroom’s Innovia range, I was keen to give it a try for him.

I got one for my double bed too. Together, we tested out the new duvet over the festive period.

I must say, I think this light and warm Innovia duvet has revolutionised his sleep. I’m not even having to go tuck him in with fleecy blankets now. light and warm duvet What can I say? It’s super luxurious and warm. It’s like a soft fluffy cloud floating on top of you as you sleep. Being light, it allows for you to move around in bed more easily.

I used to wake up at 4 am automatically, but I haven’t during this holiday period. I’m not sure whether it’s because I’m more tired from late nights during the holiday or it’s the effect of this new light and warm duvet.

I certainly feel more comfortable when I go to sleep. I shall be reporting back on this in the next few months in an instagram post.

My son reports that he no longer wakes up feeling cold and loves it. That certainly counts for something. light and warm duvet So what is so special about the Innovia range from Penelope Bedroom?

The two outer layers are made of 90% Hungarian Goose Down and 10% Hungarian Goose Feather to provide a light and fluffy cloud like feel. The centre of Innovia is filled with a heavier percentage of Hungarian Goose Feathers to add thickness and warmth. As you can see, it is encased in an elegantly quilted 100% organic cotton cover.

We have the 13.5 tog duvet which is the warmest and thickest duvet, perfect for Autumn and Winter.

Importantly, as our family have a tendency to eczema, the duvet is hypoallergenic and washable at 30 degrees.

Having tried the duvet, over this holiday period, I can vouch for Penelope Bedroom as a trusted quality brand.

They also supply some of the world’s leading 5 star hotels such as the Ritz Carlton, Jumeirah and Kempinski hotels. Imagine having a luxury hotel standard duvet at home.

My son is certainly enjoying his new light and warm duvet.

I really would like to extend a big thank you to Penelope Bedroom for making our sleep so much more comfortable.

As I love it so much, I will be reporting back on the duvet in a few more month’s time again on Instagram.

Wishing you all a wonderful 2020.

(Penelope Bedroom kindly gifted us the duvet for review. I sought after the brand after reading good things about them and not vice versa. All opinions given are unbiased.)

My happy yellow bedroom refresh.

I currently love the colour yellow. It’s such a vibrant and happy shade.

Spring is here, but it doesn’t always feel that way right?

I thought it would be good to bring a little sunshine into my bedroom with a yellow bedroom Spring refresh. The fast and easiest way to do this is to get some new bed linen.

My go to place for the best quality bedding is Christy.  Check out my new Bobbi Bed linen in Sunshine. That yellow colour trim is just wonderful. It’s 100% cotton at 180 thread count. It’s crisp and fresh. I’ve been sleeping like a baby.

Actually, I quite feel like a princess too, because it feels so soft and luxurious, just perfect for royalty. One can dream right?

The whole duvet set is super affordable at £65 for a King sized duvet cover and a pair of pillow cases. yellow bedroom The finishing touch is one of Christy’s Jaipur throw and cushions in Turmeric.

So what do you think of my yellow bedroom? Have I brought the sunshine in? Here’s hoping for more glorious weather this bank holiday weekend.

All season wool bedding from woolroom.

This weekend was unusually warm. It felt like Summer again. Don’t you think that the weather is just so unpredictable nowadays? As I write this, the skies are threatening a storm. Do you find it difficult to sleep when temperatures fluctuate like that? I know I do. woolroom So pleased to have discovered the wool bedding range from woolroom.

I never knew that wool bedding could regulate temperature, keeping you warm when its cold and cool when it’s warm.

My all season duvet from woolroom is so amazing, it has a light weight duvet perfect for Spring or Summer, a medium weight duvet for Autumn, and when put together, makes a warm Winter weight duvet. Apart from getting the temperature right, another common problem that affect sleep is allergy.  How do you banish those house dust mites that cause eczema and asthma like symptoms?

Scientific testing have shown that mites cannot survive on wool, hence the added bonus of woolroom’s range being awarded the Allergy UK seal of approval. Have you ever tried a mattress topper before?

Here you can see my Deluxe wool mattress topper from woolroom. It’s like sleeping on the most comfortable bed cushion ever. It was so soft, I felt like I was floating into dreamland. My kids love that mattress topper so much, that they’ve been asking me to get them one for their own beds too. To complete my woolroom bedding collection, I also tried out two new wool pillows. You can even unzip the pillows to fluff up the wool and adjust for comfort. Last but not least, and definitely a plus point, is that most of woolroom’s bedding are machine washable, making life convenient. What do you think? Are you a wool bedding convert like I am? I’ve been using my bedding for a few weeks now, and absolutely adore it.

I would highly recommend you to try it out. The bed topper is my favourite.

Hope you have enjoyed the post. Wishing you a wonderful week ahead.
