Autumn bedroom the White company My Autumn bedroom for cosy days in with The White Company

Summer is always full of busy months, so there’s lots of rushing around, and finishing tasks, before our long family holiday away.

I must admit, as much as I love Summer, I do welcome and take comfort from Autumn.

It’s almost as if the shorter days and cooler temperatures are giving me permission to slow down.

To kickstart my slow living, I’ve decided to transform my bedroom into a cosy and inviting space.

My Autumn bedroom will be perfect for weekend lie-ins, breakfasts in bed and lounging in pyjamas all day. I’ve turned to The White Company’s new Autumn bedroom collection to create my desired comfortable, and indulgent bedroom.

As the plan was to stay in bed, getting the bed linen right was key, something soft to cocoon into.

I picked the Symons bed linen in Egyptian cotton sateen, with a very high thread count of 1000, hence it was super soft and luxurious feel. I could have snuggled there in bed all day.  I added warmth and texture to the bed linen with a grey chunky knit lambswool bed throw and matching cushions from the Blakeney collection. Autumn bedroom Can you tell that the patterns on the throw have been inspired by a traditional Winter jumper? For added warmth on Winter nights, you could layer on this faux fur throw and pillows in Fig, also from the White Company. I’ve used it temporarily to cover over a sofa footstool, for a cosy little corner to sit and read.

I’ve selected a lace trim pyjamas set to lounge in.  Look at the pretty lace effect at the sleeves. Autumn bedroom All the ingredients for a perfect weekend in bed have therefore been put in place. This super soft natural velour robe is the perfect ‘stay at home’ house coat, for wandering around the house. I’ve paired the pyjamas with toasty warm cashmere socks. Last but not least, I always like to light a scented candle to create that sense of atmosphere.

This Wild Rhubarb candle, inspired by crisp Autumnal walks, with notes of freesia buds, plum blossoms, juicy red apples and ripe rhubarb, was the perfect finishing touch to an Autumn vibe at home. What do you think of my Autumn bedroom? I’m so pleased with my finds. Off to enjoy some breakfast in bed now in my Autumn bedroom.

Wishing you all a wonderful day.

Eltham-palace-photography-by-Little-Big-Bell It was a sunny and warm Friday afternoon.

The perfect weather for an outdoor English garden party at Eltham palace, hosted by The White Company.

It was an event about Summer entertaining. We were being shown the tips and tricks for a fun and successful garden party. Reception-room-Eltham-palace-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell Here’s a peek into the interior of the palace.

The 1930s Art Deco style reception room, with its gentle coral hues, totally caught my eye.

The owners of the palace during that period were Stephen and Virginia Courtauld.

I was interested to learn about the vivacious nature of Virginia. She had a snake tattoo that covered the whole length of her leg.

She would unapologetically expose her tattoo as she desired, a real defiance in the face of convention.
The-White-Company-bunting-Summer-Entertainment-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell Back outdoors, simple and elegant white cloth bunting from The White Company adorned wooden fences around the garden’s perimeter.  eltham-palace-rock-gardens-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell Check out the beautiful rock gardens surrounding the moat. Wisteria-at-Eltham-palace-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell These cascades of Wisteria were a true visual feast. String-quartet-Summer-Entertaining-The-White-Company-photo-by-Geraldine-Tan-Little-Big-Bell Throw in a talented string quartet, and the formula for perfect Summer entertaining takes shape.

Summer-Entertaining-table-1-The-White-Company-photo-by-Geraldine-Tan-Little-Big-Bell The White Company’s interiors stylist, Luke Batchelor, showed us how to set a gorgeous Summer table.

Effortless chic with beautiful tableware and a few simple tricks. Summer-Entertaining-1-place-setting-with-The-White-Company-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell Style napkins with flowers and fruit to give it an outdoor organic feel. Raffia is being used as napkin ties.

Pile the plates up according to courses.

I love these rounded shaped stoneware plates, part of the Artisan collection at the White Company. Summer-table-place-setting-for-Summer-entertaining-with-The-White-Company-photo-by-Geraldine-Tan-Little-Big-Bell Add a bit of sparkle to the table with the Mercury collection of tea light holders and bud vases.

Don’t just add any tea light candle, heighten the senses with the scents of Summer.

I’m currently loving The white Company’s Lime and Bay fragrance range. The-White-Company-2016-Summer-entertaining-photo-by-Geraldine-Tan-Little-Big-Bell We drank wine and water from the elegant Stemware collection.

I’m already a proud owner of a set of these glassware, and love the smooth curved feel of the glass rim, when sipping bubbly.

Heads up to their new glass drinks dispenser ( seen at the end of the table). It can hold up to 5 litres. Here they have added slices of lime and lemon, to give the water a citrus zing.

It would be the perfect vessel for cold brew peach tea and fresh lemonade, to quench that Summer thirst, don’t you think? How-to-decorate-a-table-1-for-Summer-Entertaining-photo-by-Geraldine-Tan-Little-Big-Bell I am seriously tempted by the versatility of this Pavilion lantern.

It is being used as a table decor feature, to showcase Summer greens. It can also be transformed into ambient lighting at nightfall, with lit pillar candles.

The Danvers vase is being used as a drinks glass, paired with the Danvers jug. williams-Chase-wine-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell More colour for your Summer table with Rosé wines by Williams Chase.

This rosé from Provence has a fresh fruity note of white peach and grapefruit. It pairs well with a salad Niçoise or grilled vegetables.

Talking about grilled vegetables, I now turn your attention to the delicious food we had at the garden party. Outdoor-oven-garden-party-Summer-Entertaining-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell Just look at the outdoor oven that our food was being cooked in.

We had the renowned former head chef of River Cottage, Tim Maddams, cook for us. He prepared the most delicious British barbecue.

You can see the Wood fired garlic flat bread with rape seed oil being cooked in the oven above. Salted-pollock-by-Tim-Maddams-The-White-Company-Summer-party-photo-by-Geraldine-Tan This was the Charcoal fired salt pollack with bay, rosemary and chilli that we ate.

It was beautifully seasoned with a balance of aromatic herbs. I loved the subtle kick of chilli to the palate.

The fish tasted so fresh and crumbled off into beautiful white bite sized chunks.

Its crispy, salty and lemon infused grilled skin tasted divine.

It was no surprise that we all made a bee line for the marquee, when we saw Tim’s team bringing over a fresh platter of fish, straight from the grill. Wild-flower-salad-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell We paired our fish with a dressed crunchy farm salad with edible wild flowers.

I’m not sure what the flowers were, but one of them had a very fragrant and distinct aniseed taste. Grilled-asparagus-by-Tim-Maddams-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell-blog This was my favourite dish. It was grilled asparagus with goats curd, lemon and mint.

These fresh green spears of asparagus were just the perfect tender to bite. They were sweet and nutty to taste, simply delicious when mixed with the creamy curd and tangy lemon. Strawberries-and-cream-Summer-garden-party-photo-by-Geraldine-Tan-Little-Big-Bell It would not be an English garden party without strawberries and cream. The cream was infused with geranium and limoncello. We had some crumbly, melt in your mouth shortbread to accompany. Qutdoor-scented-candle-The-White-Company-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell It was such a fun afternoon, to sit in the warm outdoors, having lunch and catching up with fellow blogger friends.

I spotted these large bamboo lanterns nearby with my favourite Lime and Bay candles. Outdoor-picnic-The-White-Company-photo-by-Geraldine-Tan-Little-Big-Bell Check out this Henley outdoor mattress from The White Company, complete with scatter cushions.

If I had more time, I would have gladly lounged there all day with my picnic and Summer novel. Eltham-palace-grounds-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell It was a truly special event. Everywhere I looked, I was surrounded by the calm of nature.

This bridge led into a field of wild flowers, where roaming livestock can be seen wandering in the distance. Eltham-palace-gardens-Little-Big-Bell Here is the view of the bridge from afar. Eltham-palace-gardens-2-Little-Big-Bell Colours were everywhere, as we toured the palace’s gardens. Irises-Eltham-palace-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell From vibrant Irises

It was such a perfect day of Summer Entertaining.

I’m feeling so inspired, and can’t wait to show you a few of the Summer tea parties that I will be featuring here soon on Little Big Bell.

Wishing you a wonderful week ahead.

Boy's-bedroom-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell Every Spring, I redecorate my son’s bedroom. I must have quite a collection of Boy’s bedroom ideas on this blog by now.

Well, it’s officially Spring now, with the clocks going forward by an hour this weekend.

My son’s room is like a chameleon, it is always changing. The above photo is the last makeover I did, featuring The Little White Company’s bedding range with British Icons, a striped rug from Ralph Lauren Home and some recycled wine boxes that I painted to turn into display shelves above the bed. Little-P-Round-and-Round-rug-styled-and-photo-by-Geraldine-Tan-Little-Big-Bell Last Winter, I acquired the cutest rug (above) for my son’s room. It’s by Australian brand, Little P. The rug is called Round & Round, in the Cloudy Pop colour range.

I’ve been so busy, that I haven’t had the chance to place it in his room, until now.

As my son is getting older, I wanted something that was a bit more grown up, but still has the fun and colourful element to inject into a young boy’s room. Kid's-workspace-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell I decided to redecorate using the colour palette of the rug.

So it will be shades of blues in teals and indigo, black and white, with bright pops of yellow. Bedroom-ideas-for-boys-photo-and-styling-by-Geraldine-Tan-Little-Big-Bell The new items that I have added are the Teal coloured bedspread and blue rectangular cushion from Hay and the funny Emoji cushion.
Boy's-bedroom-ideas-photo-by-Geraldine-Tan-Little-big-Bell-blog-UK Here is a wider view of the room. Amazing how a wonderful carpet rug can dictate the look of  a room.

My son loves his new Little P Round & Round rug. He told me that he loves sitting on it, as it is super soft. It’s made of 100% New Zealand wool. He’s usually on the rug whilst playing with his Lego mini figures.

He’s now trying to convince me to move it to the other side of his bed, where his X-box computer game is.

I don’t think I’ll be doing that, as I don’t want him to get too comfortable sitting in front of screen games all day.

stylish-kid's-room-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell So pleased I finally got round to redecorating his room. It’s amazing how a little edit can change the look of a room without having to spend a huge budget. Happy-bedroom-for-kids-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell What do you think? Do you like it?

Hope you have enjoyed this Boy’s bedroom ideas post. I will be back with lots more interiors posts soon.

Have a wonderful week ahead.
