Jing-tea-The-White-Company-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell Mother’s day in the UK is on the 6th of March. It’s made me realise how much I miss my mum. We both lead such busy lives that time often flies by.

When I say my mother leads a busy life, she really does. She’s an entrepreneur, the big boss of her own growing company and she travels often too.

I wanted to give her a special mother’s day gift. It needn’t be anything expensive but I wanted it to be something that she would love

I guess it won’t be much of a surprise if she reads this post. She does read my blog, which makes me really happy. The prompt for her of one of my postings, is when I announce it on Facebook. So I better keep this one quiet.

My mother for as long as I know, loves drinking tea. I decided to get her a beautiful Jing tea set and tea, as her mother’s day gift, from the White Company. Lemongrass-and-ginger-Jing-tea-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell Since my mother really knows her tea, I had to pick a brand that I knew would measure up to her standards and so I chose Jing tea. Jing means ‘essence’.

I have met the owner of Jing tea Edward Eisler, and heard him talk with passion, about the tea cultures from where they originate, and on how his team had selected their tea leaves. They source their tea from Asia’s finest.

The White Company now stocks a beautifully curated collection of Jing tea ware and teas. The glass tea set is so beautiful.  Happy-mother's-day-gift-from-the-white-company-styled-by-Geraldine-Tan-of-Little-Big-Bell-blog Jing glass is something special. It has been hand blown by masters using the purest borosilicate glass. Borosilicate glass is known for its durability, heat resistance, brightness and clarity. Each piece takes four days to produce in 10 to 15 steps to complete. Wow, that is a lot of work.

The elegant glass teapot above holds tea for two and it has a removable coil filter that keeps tea leaves in the pot when pouring. Lemongrass-and-ginger-tea-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell Simply adore this glass cup and saucer, and how you can see the pretty hues of the tea against light. It’s just the perfect size for an afternoon cup of tea.

Jing-tea-at-the-white-company-photo-and-styling-by-Geraldine-Tan-Little-Big-Bell Here is cup of the Jing Lemongrass and Ginger herbal tea infusion that I made earlier. It reminds me of being in Thailand at a luxurious spa, far away from civilisation.  Mother's-day-gift-Little-Big-Bell Here is cup of Jing Jasmine Silver needle tea, sourced from Yunnan province of China.

It is a white tea made from individual buds scented with jasmine flowers, then separated each morning and fired to remove the moisture absorbed from the flowers. This meticulous process is repeated until the perfect level of Jasmine scent is achieved.

So, what do you think? A great idea for a mother’s day gift don’t you think? Just add a box of colourful macarons and a pretty card. I hope she likes it. Jing-tea-lemongrass-and-ginger-styled-by-Geraldine-Tan-Little-Big-Bell For myself, with my busy up and go lifestyle, I have picked this Jing glass tea infuser mug, also from the White Company. I’m going to start taking this in to work with me.

It comes with a readily removable infuser basket which can be placed on the upturned lid when removed.

I’ve styled the mug next to a cream pom pom ball that I recently made. Mother's-day-gift-idea-scented-candle-styling-and-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell Finally, let’s create the ambience of a holiday or Spring, whilst drinking tea and eating macarons. I am totally addicted to the White Company’s new season Lime and Bay candle. It is a beautifully scented fusion of exotic mandarin, pink grapefruit, bergamot, orange, lime and lemon, laced with jasmine buds, limeblossom, ginger and crushed bay leaves. Sounds delicious doesn’t it?

Just also a quick mention, Benares, a Michelin starred Indian restaurant in London is now serving a Jing tea pairing menu until March, so there is still some time left to try it out if you it like. I have sampled it and it was delicious.

Anyway, wishing all mothers out there a happy Mother’s day and I hope you have enjoyed this post. It’s tempted me to go off and make myself a cup of lemongrass and ginger tea.

Wishing you a wonderful upcoming weekend.

Winter-room-spray-The-White-company-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell I can’t believe Christmas is just a month away. I’ve been so busy that I was beginning to resign to the fact that, this year, there will be no Winter cosy at home.

That all changed when The White Company sent me my first Christmas gift of the season, my very own Christmas Survival kit. I’m ever so grateful for the helping hand and gentle nudge towards a festive feel at home.

The White company’s signature Winter home fragrance, comprising of Cinnamon, Clove and Orange is my ultimate Christmas scent. In fact, I tend to burn the Winter candles from November through till February.

Those Winter candles are so popular that you will often find them sold out. A mental note to self that I need to stock up. Luckily, the home spray is currently bridging the gap. the-white-company-Flowers-bath-foam-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell During this time of the year, I often find that there are not enough hours in the day to do things. Do you find that too?

For me, there are the Winter pressures in the Accident and Emergency department where I work as a doctor, and then there are the parental duties of attending all those school Christmas fairs and concerts. The thought of Christmas shopping has not even yet registered.

The White Company has come to my rescue again with a charming decanter filled with Flowers bath foam, the perfect bath time treat to melt the stresses away.

Christmas-gift-ideas-for-her-The-White-Company-photo-and-styling-by-Little-Big-Bell During the festive season, we sometimes have people staying over. Getting the guest room ready and fit for purpose is another to do task.

This simple white frame is not only great for any last minute gifting but also perfect for decorating that extra room. Add a bedside Sloe Gin votive and I’m sure the guests will feel right at home.

Talking about Sloe Gin, there was also a miniature bottle of Sipsmith included in the gift, perfect for unwinding after a busy day. Do-what-you-love-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell What a marvellous idea to have some motivational pep talk engraved on pencils. ‘Do what you love’, that’s precisely what I’m doing now as I write my blog. Christmas-gifts-for-her-photo-and-styling-by-Geraldine-Tan-littlebigbell.com Here’s more. The-White-Company-Christmas-presents-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell Might as well show you all of them. A simple but powerful idea.

Lying below the row of pencils is a heart notebook, also part of the gift. A great reminder for jotting down my Christmas to dos.

Inside the gift box there were also a pair of blue Cashmere socks and a tin of hot cocoa.

I’ll let you in on a secret, the White company’s cashmere socks are the best. Last year I got a grey pair and they always accompany me now on my travels abroad. They are that bit luxury for me on the flight.

Calligraphy-with-the-White-Company-Little-Big-Bell I have also improved on my calligraphy skills, after a recent lesson with the talented Megan Riera organised by the White Company.

That reminds me, the first Christmas hurdle is the card writing.

Hope you’ve enjoyed the post and that it has given you some ideas on how to survive the festive period.

Have a great week all. There will be lots of exciting announcements coming up soon, so watch this blog space.

Boy's-bedroom-Little-Big-Bell I’m sure if you have been following Little Big Bell long enough, you would have seen my son’s bedroom change its look from time to time, and you would also know that our family absolutely adore the brand The White Company and The Little White Company . Boy's_bedroom_Little_White_Company_on_Little_Big_Bell Last year I styled a Breton theme look using The Little White company’s bedding range.

As The White Company turns 21 this year, I thought I’d celebrate with another room styling, from their latest children’s collection. the-little-white-company-new-duvet-london-print-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell When I refresh the look of my son’s room, I often only adjust a few decorative pieces and change the bedding.

Small minor changes can often make a huge impact to the feel of a room. It makes it feel new and creates a vibrant energy.

The new theme for his bedroom is quite simply ‘London’.

Little-white-company-guard-cushion-cover-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell The red striped pillow was from the previous season Little White Company range, which I used in the Breton styled look.

Now I’ve added the Soldier knitted cushion from the new collection.

Love how their collections are so consistent in style, you can mix and match current and previous seasons together without having to fork out a huge amount of money, yet you are able to create a completely new look for the room.

You can also see in the photo above, a close up of the new London print duvet cover that I recently bought. The-Little-White-company So small changes can create a different look.

I took down one of of his old framed prints and replaced it with the new ‘Live, Love, Laugh’ print from The White Company. I adore its inspirational reminder and happy vibe. The-little-white-company-2015-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell I also made some shelves from recycling old wooden wine boxes which I painted, and then hung them securely above the bed.

Those shelves could also be hung lower by the bedside as storage. Lion-motif-jumper-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell To complement the whole London theme of his bedding, my son wore his Little White Company striped jumper, complete with the lion and a Union Jack bowler hat. Such a cute jumper don’t you think? Little-White-company-stripes-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell The back of his jumper even matches the cushion on his bed.
Live-love-laugh The rug in his bedroom is from Ralph Lauren home and the bed throw is from Design House Stockholm. The anchor cushion is from West Elm in London. The-Little-White-company-boy's-bedroom-b-styled-by-Little-Big-Bell So, what do you think? A relatively inexpensive update for a new fresh look.

Hope you’ve enjoyed this. I have so many more exciting posts to come and I can’t wait to share it with you soon.

In the meantime, do also follow along on Instagram. I will be off on many fun adventures over the next few days.

Amara-interior-blog-awards-colour-inspiration-Little-Big-Bell Also, a little reminder to please VOTE here for me to make the final shortlist for the Amara blog award for colour inspiration, if you like? It ends in 2 days and I would very much appreciate it. Have a great week all.
