Candles and scent diffusers – How to bring the Mediterranean vibe of Italy into your home.

Hope you’ve all had a wonderful Easter weekend. Wasn’t the warm weather fabulous?

It reminded me of my recent trip to Milan for the launch of Acqua Di Parma’s home scent collection. Since my return to London, I’ve been able to enjoy a few of their wonderful candles and scent diffusers. Not only do they smell amazing and transport me to sunny Italy, they look wonderful as decor too. Yellow is so on trend in interiors now, and Acqua Di Parma’s yellow is just the perfect tone.

Therefore, I have decided to style their lovely yellow candles and scent diffusers at home. Here is  Acqua Di Parma’s Buongiorno candle in my living room. scent diffusers Acqua Di Parma’s scent diffusers combined with scented candles create the most amazing ambience. Buongiorno is revitalising and fresh, like the morning breeze on a hot day. I have now placed different candles and diffusers in various parts of my home, to experience those different Italian moments that each scent creates. This Acqua di Parma Fico do Amalfi is another one of my favourite scents.

It is inspiredby the gorgeous landscape of the Mediterranean immersed in the soft scent of fig trees. Here is Acqua di Parma’s Luce di Colonia scented candle. It has citrus notes of Orange and Lemon  combined with Neroli, Vetiver, Patchouli and Petitgrain.

Above all, it is vibrant and happy. I wasn’t kidding when I said I have the candles all over the house. Here is the La Casa sul Lago candle in my dining room.

It’s all about a blend of fresh flowers, aquatic notes and musk. I feel so relaxed with all these glorious scents at home.  If you fancy a slice of Italy in your home too, then you can find out more about the scents on Acqua Di Parma’s site.

Finally, wishing you a wonderful week ahead.

My Citrus theme Christmas tree for 2018

How time flies! It’s less than one week to Christmas.

I better get my skates on. Last year, my rainbow tree was a hit, and this trend has even gone mainstream this year, with John Lewis featuring a similar tree.

This year, I was interviewed by Grazia magazine on what my 2018 Christmas tree would look like.

I did mention to Rachel Loos, Grazia’s reporter that I had an idea but didn’t know if I would execute it as I didn’t have the baubles yet.

I told Grazia that I was going to decorate in Citrus tones.

So, Living Coral is Pantone’s colour of the year, and will be big in 2019, but I’ve already done coral for the past couple of years. My living room modular sofa is in that shade.

I felt a new hue, such as yellow, should step out of the shadows.

Who knows? Perhaps yellow may be the Spring colour of the year in 2020? Yellow is so energetic and happy. It’s the perfect colour to see us into the new year.

If you saw my last blog post, you may have seen my new yellow Harper sofa from sofa. com. Here it is again. So here it is! What do you think? I thought the yellow sofa was the perfect backdrop to style my Citrus theme tree against. Despite my last minute decision to do a theme tree, I was fortunate to have Christmas Time UK come to my rescue.  It was easy to find what I needed, as Christmas Time UK is one of the UK’s largest online retailer for Christmas lighting and decorations The yellow, lime and orange baubles on my citrus Christmas tree come in 3 sizes, and they are all shatterproof. I’ve also decided to layer on some tinsel. Tinsel is so fun.  So what do you think of the new citrus Christmas tree Christmas tree?

Hope you like it. I love how my space feels so vibrant and energetic now.

Hope you are all doing well in the lead up to Christmas.

Wishing you a wonderful and joyful Christmas and New Year.

Gen Z yellow ( Paid partnership with Homesense UK)

It pains me to say this, but Millennial pink ( my favourite colour) is about to be replaced by the new kid on the block, Gen Z yellow.

Luckily yellow is one of the colours that I love too.

For those not familiar with the term Gen Z, it’s the generation born between 1995 and 2014.

There’s a lot of speculation as to why yellow is the chosen colour. It could be because they are a bolder generation or  perhaps it’s a colour that matches the ‘notice me’ culture seen on social media.

As you can see, I’ve styled a very vibrant party corner in my home, using yellow accessories bought from my local Homesense store.

I’m sure most of you know Homesense by now, but if not, it’s part of the TK Maxx family and has over 50 stores in the U.K.

You can read more about Homesense in my previous post here. Gen Z yellow Having 2 kids from Gen Z hopefully affords me an insight into how Gen Z yellow could be represented at home.

I’ve noticed that my Gen Z kids love retro brands and logos when they go clothes shopping.

Since fashion trends influence interior trends, I’ve decided to style my Gen Z yellow corner with a cool retro vibe.

I’ve chosen a Pina Colada and banana split party theme since they are both retro ( very 1980s)  and obviously yellow.

I’ve used this orange red trolley £89.99 from Homesense, to contrast and show off the pops of yellow. Standing tall on my trolley is this ceramic blown up yellow dinosaur for £16.99.

It was the first pop of yellow I saw in Homesense, and perfect for adding a party vibe.

I made Pina Colada cocktails with rum, coconut milk and some pineapple syrup I found in Homesense for £4.99.

The cute glasses with gold brush lettering are also from Homesense. They were a bargain at £12.99 for a set of 4, complete with gold straws. I can still clearly remember how delicious banana splits when I was little.

The pair of banana dishes were a steal at £4.99 each.

I must confess I did make some banana split for the photo shoot but the ice cream kept melting.

A party is not a party without some crunchy nibbles right? I bought some spicy snacks which I placed in this £2.99 yellow bowl, another Homesense bargain. As you can see this Pina Colada banana split party has been styled indoors, but it can equally be brought outdoors.

If I had a swimming pool, this is how my chilled poolside party would look.  This large pineapple candle at £14.99 smells of fresh pineapples and Citronella, so perfect for a scented outdoor party without those pesky mosquitoes. So there you have it, my Gen Z yellow party at home.

I say bring back Pina Coladas and banana splits.

Hope you’ve enjoyed the post. Do go and check out all those cool Gen Z yellows in Homesense. Have a lovely day.
