Fun and cool Teenage girl bedroom ideas that rock.

If I ask you to visualise a teen girl’s room, what do you see?

I’m sure the word ‘messy’ would feature frequently right?

You wouldn’t be wrong there, because ‘messy ‘ is a normal teen’s rite of passage.

Then if I ask you, where do you see your teen spending most of his or her time whilst at home? I wouldn’t be surprised if you said ‘in bed’.

Bed in our household has become synonymous with a teen’s hq, all made easy with accessible technology and entertainment nowadays, so there’s no need to get out of bed.

So a laptop in bed with headphones, watching You Tube or Netflix is not an unusual sight.

Does this all sound familiar?

The image above is how the bedroom looked before the revamp.Seeing as the bed is such a crucial location for all activity and I must admit, productivity for school work too, there’s no point in fighting against it any more.

So, ‘if you can’t beat them, join them’ right?

Here is how it looks now. As you can see, I have stripped all the wallpaper off the walls and painted it white. I wanted it to feel light and bright.

I indulged in my daughter’s wish for a double bed, and got this white metal bed at the White Company Christmas sale. What I love about this bed is its height. There is ample room below for storage boxes or even a pull out mattress for when she has friends over.

A new bed means a new comfortable mattress right?  After some research, we decided to give the Casper mattress a try.

My daughter gave it the thumbs up after just one night.

Here’s a little run down on the 4 foam layers that make this mattress special:

The top layer latex foam has a springy elasticity that allows for easy movement and weight shifts. It also allows for air circulation to aid a cooler sleep, much needed with the current heatwave.

I was surprised how well my daughter slept, despite the windows being closed during this heat.

The second layer of the mattress is a memory foam that provides comfort.

The third layer is another memory foam layer that provides Zoned Support ( very important for a teen who sits in bed all day). The base layer adds durability.Teenage girl bedroomWith the mattress ticked off the list, what next for a teenage girl bedroom? I reckon some comfortable and stylish bedding.

I recently experienced sleeping with some linen bedding, and I couldn’t believe I had never considered it before.

It was super soft and comfortable, and kept me cool during those hot breezeless nights.

My daughter’s pink stone washed linen bedding is from Piglet in Bed. She loves it so much, that I think laundry day may soon become a tug of war.

It’s such a beautiful natural pink too. I’m seriously having bedding envy now.Teenage girl bedroom ideasNo bedroom is complete without a gallery wall.

I always turn to my favourite art print store Desenio, when looking for beautiful pieces to style. These gorgeous pink and blue Miami and California photographic prints from Desenio were selected by my daughter. She also picked the cute pink and green palm trio of prints above the head of her bed.She then completed the look with some cool pillow cases from Urban Outfitters. That cuddly sloth on her bed was a gift from me. I feel so happy and optimistic when I lie on her bed, looking at the blue skies of the photos on her wall.

This is but one corner of my daughter’s bedroom. The other parts of her bedroom will be shared soon. I’m actually lying on her bed now as I type this post ( whilst she is out partying). Teens these days! Tomorrow she is jetting off for a week with her friends to Cannes. I can’t remember my teen years being like that.

Anyway, I’m digressing. The Casper mattress is so incredibly comfortable, I’m nearly falling asleep.Hope you’ve enjoyed the post. Doesn’t this Teenage girl bedroom look so much more inviting than before? ( Do scroll back up to the top of this page to see the “Before” again).I know it’s definitely being appreciated by my little sloth. I mean the soft toy on the bed lol!

It’s a calm space conducive to studying, more than Netflix at least, I hope.

Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead.

( All styling and photography for this Teenage Girl bedroom are by me, Geraldine Tan, editor of Little Big Bell. This is not a paid partnership but a product review post).
