The Cook and Share hall at Maison & Objet 2017 Paris.
I am so excited, to be invited by Maison & Objet to Paris.
Maison & Objet is a lifestyle fair for the home and interiors market. It brings together a curated collection of brands, whose product offerings span the world of design, decor, furniture and more.
It is the place to go, to discover new trends and products for the home. This will be my first time at the fair, and I can’t wait.
I am also truly honoured to have been asked to be one of Maison & Objet’s star Discovery Jury member. I will be selecting, and rewarding, my favourite new exhibitor in the Cook and Share hall.
Since I will be judging that section, I thought I’d take a little peek at what was on offer there. Andrée Jardin, a French brand, caught my eye with their beautifully designed kitchen aprons.
Then I delved a little bit more into their story and loved what I found. They specialise in making the most beautiful brushes and brooms for the home.
Check out that pastel blue broom and pink dustpan and brush.
They now collaborate with a range of designers to bring modernity to their products. The pastel collection above was designed by Mr & Mrs Clynk. What do you think of these pink heart shaped SRDCE bowls by Tablo?
I can see them becoming an Instagram hit, for breakfast photos. I would fill my heart with endless varieties of berries, cereals and yoghurts. Do you have a set of pepper and salt grinder at home, or are you like me, who can’t resist having more than one, especially when a new design hits the market?
I console myself after the spend, that salt and pepper mills make great decor features on kitchen shelves.
These Peili salt and pepper grinders are by Zone Denmark, and have such a pared down beauty about them
If you are looking for a nut cracker for your Christmas festivities, I’ve found this elegant one from Zone Denmark too. As Autumn and Winter approach, there is a temptation (for me at least) to paint my walls dark. Styling it dark with pops of bright will be a big trend for the colder season, but I’m such a ‘style it light’ person, that I’m having second thoughts.
However, there are other ways to do the bright on dark trend, without having to paint your walls.
How about a set of vibrantly coloured plates, against a dark table? Would give your Winter table a great impact.
These beautiful hand decorated Limoges porcelain plates are from the fovéa Collection of Edition Porcelaine. I adore their colour pigments, in line with this season’s colour palette. All this talk of Summer ending is getting me down. I need a splash of colour to remind me of a sunny Mediterranean, and these vibrant table ware from DaTerra certainly do the trick. So pleased to find these remakes of the classic Cathrineholm enamel bowls. I can still remember buying the vintage Cathrineholm sets on ebay. Last but not least, are these amazing cutlery from Herdmar.
The ones I’ve shown above, may be slightly out of my budget, but browsing through their catalogue, there seems to be something for everyone there.
Hope you’ve enjoyed a little peek into what will be on offer, at the Cook and Share hall, at Maison & Objet. I can’t wait to discover more and to pick my absolute favourite.
I have also done a pre show curate of furniture and decor for Maison & Objet, if you fancy checking it out.
Please do follow me on Instagram and insta stories next week from 8-10th September to see what I get up to at the fair.
Have a lovely start to your weeks.
