Wall tapestry as a decor feature I feel is making a comeback.
I decided to hunt one down at a French flea market. I will show you the piece I found at the end of this post.
Whilst in Paris, I went to the Louvre museum to see their fashion couture exhibition. The gowns were magnificent, but I was mesmerised by the beautiful tapestry wall hangings ( as above) used as a backdrop to showcase the museum’s antique furniture, decor and outfits.
Many of the tapestry wall hangings depicted war and conquer, but I preferred the non conflict ones.
Here’s a little glimpse of a Fendi couture dress on display against an impressive wall tapestry.
How beautiful is this tapestry chair?
This recent piece is by Schumacher.
For me, I love the idea of a wall tapestry hanging over the bed. It’s a great statement piece and focal point for the bed without the need for a headboard.
The above gives you an idea of how I will use the one that I bought in the bedroom. The above bedroom image is from Ramble Interiors’ Etsy store.
I purchased this tapestry from the Paris flea market last Sunday.
It’s not particularly old, but vintage 1980s.
It was a true bargain and I’m thinking of using it over the guest bed.

Here’s a closer detailed view. I love the colours and sweet depiction. I imagine it’s a princess being accompanied with her dogs to the castle.
What do you think about tapestry? I have a hunch tapestry is going to big trend in the coming seasons, perhaps next Autumn/Winter. How about you?
