I’ve arrived safe and sound in LA, for the Modenus Blog Tour due to commence this afternoon, for the next 5 days.
Due to intense jet lag, I’ve been able to make good use of those awake hours by writing this post.
I came a few days early in order to explore and absorb the local city vibe. The warmth, blue skies and green all around was the much required tonic from the grey Autumn of London.
I thought I’d show you the vibrant colours of the city’s interior and lifestyle stores. The first being West Elm, which to my delight is soon opening in London.
This taupe grey, velvet sofa looks perfect for lounging, brought to life by the vibrant blue and patterns of the cushions.
Deep greens are a favourite for this season. Love how the coloured wall accentuates the bottles on display.
The deep grey here brings to life the woody tones of ochre yellows and creams. That wicker mirror, a welcome change to the metal sunburst mirrors often contrasted against dark walls.
The Indigo blue and green tones of these cushions are so opulent and instantly brightens up the pale cream sofa. I love the way the cushions have been layered, the plain base tones of green, cream and grey in the background, accented by the colours of the butterfly wings.
The trend continues for mix tones of blues and greens in beautiful Celadon, Turquoise and Indigo blues. These vases would look great contrasted with brass.
Next, I would like to introduce you to a lifestyle store called Ten over Six . It is so beautifully curated, with objects full of vibrant colours. Had I not been limited by luggage weight to travel, I may well have gone on a spending spree.
Love the colours of those Pacific Tote Company bags.
No excuse that it’s not Valentine’s day with these beautiful ‘love’ cards on display on the counter.
Quirky colourful animals on the wall injected a dose of humour.
Here is a beautifully curated table of gifts. I’m liking those colourful, stripy scarfs.
Ten over six is a store for all. Even the children’s clothes are so impeccably curated. I can instantly spot my favourite brand, Bobo Choses on display.
Here is the ladies collection. Beautiful pieces, ranging from brands such as A.P.C, Alexander Wang, Acne to Comme des Garçons.
Finally, some brogues that caught my eye.
You can read more about Ten over 6 on my lovely friend Gudy’s blog Eclectic Trends.
Hope you’ve enjoyed this post. I will be intermittently back to post depending on the Blog Tour schedule and hours to occupy whilst awake with jet lag.
I just love West Elm and I’m so happy they are coming to London. What a wonderful start to your LA Blog Tour Geraldine. I can’t wait to read more. xD
Thank you Doris, we should both try to go to the opening of the store in London. Hope you are well. xx
I think West Elm is one of my favorite “chain stores” in L.A. ! So exciting you are getting one in London! Its kind of about time! HA! Have a wonderful time in L.A. I will be in your city the end of this week! Having lunch with a few of our blogger friends, in fact! ( Doris and Monika) 🙂 Looking forward to seeing some posts on the Blog Tour!
It’s such a shame, I would have loved to have met you Lauren. Hope you have a fabulous time with Doris and Monika. xx
So nice to see some West Elm pictures Geraldine! I feel I know them so well without ever having been there. One day! Hope jet lag has gone-I have never suffered in that direction-coming home, however, has taken me a week to fully recover. I’m sure you already have lots of ideas to combat it on your return. I tried 3 solid hours sleep straight away and then back to normal hours-after a fashion-not easy! Hope you don’t have to dive straight back into work. Hope you’re all having a wonderful time! Cx
Thanks caroline, the jet lag unfortunately is still a problem. West elm is wonderful. We’ll be getting one in London soon. x
Ahhh love getting a glimpse into these stores! That velvet couch at West Elm is lovely! Ten Over Six looks like a great concept store. Look forward to reading more Geraldine! Mel xx
I’m loving velvet too. so cosy for Autumn/Winter.Have a lovely day Mel. x
I bought most of my presents to bring back from New York at West Elm – lucky you, I don’t think there’ll be one in Berlin too soon… I’m sure LA is a great place for shopping. Enjoy the sun, the company and the wonderful opportunity, Geraldine!
LA is wonderful, I’m a bit worried that I may now be overweight! oops!x
