Wimbledon tennis season is now in full swing and it’s so nail bitingly good. The last time I went to Wimbledon was probably when I was age 13.
I had fond memories of waking up early and going to queue for tickets. It didn’t matter how long I had to stand there, the tennis was always worth the wait.
Then, there was also the strawberries and cream to look forward to.
Strawberries and cream are wonderful, but in the scorching heat, the cream soon turns warm.
What we need is ice cream, and how wonderful it is that since 2016, Häagen-Dazs, one of the world’s best ice cream makers, has partnered up with Wimbledon to become the Official Ice cream of the Championships.I was over the moon when Häagen-Dazs invited me to the Wimbledon championships for the day. It was in celebration of their partnership and the launch of a limited edition Strawberries & Cream ice cream.
I couldn’t wait to try it out, a playful twist on the traditional serve, making Strawberries & Cream extraordinary.Häagen-Dazs has also collaborated with the sports fashion brand, Björn Borg, to design their limited edition ice cream boxes and containers. What do you think?
They look great with a clean, minimal Scandinavian touch don’t you think?
Anyway, I think I must have eaten three of these ice cream bars at Wimbledon.
They were so moreish, with the Häagen-Dazs’ signature luxury ice cream, handpicked strawberries and a crisp outer Belgian chocolate coating.I was so lucky to have been given Centre Court tickets. I got to watch Konta win against Vekic.
So excited to follow Konta’s journey, as she really is the British hopeful to be the champion at this year’s Wimbledon ladies’ tennis. Here’s the other British hopeful, last year’s Wimbledon champion, Andy Murray. I saw him play against Dustin Brown, which he won. Here’s a shot of Dustin Brown on Centre Court.
I also got to see Nadal play against Donald Young. It’s a shame that Nadal is now out of the championships. His match against Muller on TV was tense, and they both fought right till the end.Anyway, back to the topic of strawberries and cream. You can get the Strawberries & Cream version in a tub too. As you can see, I couldn’t resist, and had started eating out of the tub. We’ve been getting quite a few hot days in London lately, and I thought I’d share with you another way of enjoying my ice cream whilst watching Wimbledon on TV.
Quite simply, I’ve mixed 2 portions of milk, with 1 portion or cup of fresh strawberries with 2 cups of the ice cream in the blender to make a milkshake.
I’ve also made little strawberry skewers to dip into my milkshake too. What can I say? it’s just so good. My family have now gone through 4 tubs of Häagen-Dazs in 1 week.
You too can get your hands on this delectable ice cream. The single serve stickbars are available to purchase at Wimbledon and on Amazon Prime Now, which offers customers in selected postcodes a choice of 2 hour, same day delivery. The multipack collection is also available at Sainsbury’s nationally.
They will all retail during the tennis season till end of July 2017. So, do try it before they run out. I will be ordering more.
Hope you have enjoyed the post. I will be back soon with more interiors post, including a special peek at my outdoor space.

I mean WOW, I love Wimbledon so much and you know that I was watching your instastories drooling over Dustin Brown <3 Strawberries and cream is a must this time of year, I MUST try this ice cream. xx
Nothing says summer like strawberries and cream. 🙂 Lucky girl, getting to see the tennis. x
Looks like a wonderful day at the tennis, Geraldine! Love the sound of your milkshake too – so yummy! xxx
I’m probably the only one in the U.K. That isn’t into tennis. But I am into strawberries and I love finding new ways to use them!
Centre Court at Wimbledon really is the best experience – the whole tournament is my fave time of the UK summer! x
Oh the memories ! This post made me quite emotional. I used to work at Wimbledon on Centre Court as a military steward back in my army days. Wonderful post. We used to get the Strawberries for free (never had Haagen-Dazs though) ! xx
Well, strawberries and cream is the only ice cream that makes sense for Wimbledon, haha! How fab to spend the day there, especially when the sun is out! xo
I’m not much of a tennis fan but I DO like ice cream and those bars look delicious! Love the idea of fresh strawberries dipped in a milkshake too 😉 x
Mmm, strawberries and cream ice cream sounds delicious! Loving Wimbledon this year! x
