mother's day Did you know Mother’s day in the UK is on Sunday 11th March? I thought it would be fun to do a Mother’s day gift post, in case any of you are looking for ideas.

As you can see, I have a desk full of goodies here. They are gifts that I have recently received ( with no obligation to post), but since I love them so much, I thought I’d share.  How about some beautiful hardback books as mother’s day gifts?

I absolutely adore coffee table books, and I’m sure if you follow me on Instagram, you will have noticed my growing collection on my coffee table.

I would like to extend a huge thank you to Hardie Grant books for sending me this wonderful selection. If your mother loves Interiors then you’ll have to buy her Kit Kemp’s ‘Every Room Tells A Story’ .

I have always been a huge fan of interior designer Kit Kemp, and love how she boldly mixes colour and patterns together. Her book is certainly a visual feast not to be missed.

For mothers who love to cook, I would highly recommend Sicily by Katie and Giancarlo Caldesi. The book unearths the most beautiful local Italian dishes straight from the largest island in the Mediterranean.

If you have a mother with a sweet tooth and a penchant for travelling ( actually that sounds like me), then ‘The Desserts of New York’ is a must. I can’t wait to explore all those delicious and insta worthy spots when I next go to New York.  For fashion lovers, I simply adore ‘ The Art of Stripes’ by Libby Vanderploeg. I mean, look at the cute cover in pink and red.  I never knew there were so many ways to wear stripes and look stylish at the same time. You can never have too many candles right?

The ones by Miller Harris are a perfect mother’s day gift. Not only do they smell delicious, they come in such cute and colourful jars and packaging too.

Miller Harris have asked me which ones are my favourite, so far it’s a tug of war between the sweet citrus scent of Tangerine Vert and the blackcurrant pear scent of Cassis en Feuille. In case you were wondering about those beautiful plates and milk jar I have used for flowers, they are from Cath Kidston’s Park Wildlife Home collection. The whole collection is gorgeous. I have my eyes on the bunny set too. If your mum is really into beauty, then how about these blushers from Benefit Cosmetics.

The Galifornia golden pink blusher is amazing for a little warm California glow to a Winter’s skin, whilst dandelion gives off a beautiful shimmer.

For fans of Benefit’s Porefessional face primer, I’m loving the new Pearl primer with its additional brightening effect for a radiant look. ( It helps that the tube comes in my favourite pink colour too) mother's day cookies Last but not least, how about a delightful tin of mother’s day bouquet luxe biscuits from Biscuiteers?   The tin contains 16 hand iced biscuits, inspired by the traditional language of floriography. The flowers represent grace, patience, kindness and a mother’s love. Tea time can never come sooner for me with this tin of biscuits at home. They are too pretty to eat too, but that hasn’t stopped me. They also have Gluten free versions, and you can order them online, to be sent straight to your mother. Hope you’ve enjoyed this post. It’s been so fun sharing this with you.

Hope you’ve managed to find something from here, that your mother would like too. I know I would love to receive these gifts on mother’s day.

Wishing you all a wonderful start to your week.

Benefit-breakfast-with-a-twist-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell How cool is this breakfast invite from Benefit Cosmetics, for the launch of its new Porefessional skin priming collection? All in my favourite Tiffany blue hue.
Benefit-Cosmetics-UK_Rise-and-prime-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell I’m loving all the attention to detail. Look what greeted me as I arrived at the cafe for the breakfast event.
Benefit-porefessional-matt-rescue-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell I couldn’t wait to find out about the new Porefessional range.

I was certainly impressed with this life sized version of the Porefessional Matt Rescue at the door. Rise-and-Prime-breakfast-1-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell The breakfast was all kinds of wonderful and definitely ‘greasy-less’ as stated on the sign at arrival.

I had a Skinny Buttermilk Pancake served with natural yogurt, blueberries and honey. All washed down with a lovely cup of filtered coffee.

I absolutely adore that blue and white plaid table cloth. Benefit-cosmetics-Rise-and-prime-breakfast-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell I loved the event so much, that I decided to reproduce the look at home for my product shoot. Benefit-cosmetics-Porefessional-1-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell Here you have the new Benefit cosmetics Porefessional range – The Instant Wipeout mask and the Matt rescue gel.
Benefit-cosmetics-2016-photo-by-Geraldine-of-Little-Big-Bell I couldn’t resist adding this bright pink sprinkled donut into the mix. A little harmless change to the healthy skinny pancakes and yogurt above right?

So, let me tell you about The Porefessional Matt rescue gel. I have had an opportunity to try it a few times now.

If you want to smooth over pores, get rid of excess shine or if you have slightly oilier skin, then this lightweight, water-based gel is ideal for you. Apply over your freshly cleansed face and that thin layer of application literally absorbs the excess surface oil. Pores and fine lines become visibly less.

Now for that top secret ingredient. Can you believe it contains Diamond powder?
Benefit-porefessional-instant-wipeout-mask-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell How about Benefit’s instant wipeout mask? It’s great for clearing out the pores. It’s so fun to use too. You have to press on the blue button to automatically release the cleansing fluid onto the wipes.

Place the wipes over pores around the nose, forehead or chin area to draw out those pore clogging impurities. On the other side of the wipe, is a textured fabric which you can use to help you exfoliate and remove the impurities.

The secret ingredient here is a special extract of mushroom. Benefit-Porefessional-Matt-rescue-Little-Big-Bell After treating my pores with the Porefessional range, I’ve noticed that my skin is visibly smoother and make up application, especially after using the matt rescue gel seem to glide on much more easily.

Which one will you Rise and Prime with, or both? Benefit-cosmetics-porefessional-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell I usually follow the basic skincare routine of cleanse, tone and then apply a base foundation. But I’m now convinced to start my morning routine of priming my pores before make up. It’s so quick and easy. Benefit-cosmetics-hello-flawless-foundation-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell After the pores routine, I’m now using my new Benefit Hello flawless foundation. A sheer and smooth layer that brightens up the face. You can find your perfect skin tone match, just ask at a Benefit counter. Benefit-breakfast-with-a-twist The excess shine may be gone but the glow of healthy pores will come through.

Apologies for more donut photos but that blue sprinkled one is the perfect colour match don’t you think?

Hope you have enjoyed this beauty themed post filled with pretty shades of blue, and that you have found the information on this new product useful. Do let me know how you find it, if you do try it.

The Porefessional range will be widely available nationwide from January 30th, only a mere few days away.

Next week, I will be back with an interiors related post, where I will show you an unseen corner of my home. Can’t wait to show you. Wishing you all a wonderful weekend ahead.

Benefit-cosmetics-styled-by-Little-Big-Bell I adore living a life full of happy colours, however, this is not just confined to interiors and decor. I also love colour in fashion, beauty and travel.

So, today’s post is about the colourful beauty products from Benefit cosmetics and Prismologie that I have tried and would recommend. Benefit-Real-push-up-liner-styling-and-photo-by-Geraldine-Tan-Little-Big-Bell My beauty routine is quite simple and daily I apply a fine liquid eye-liner in black.

So imagine how excited I was when I found out that Benefit was launching colours in their They’re Real push-up liners.

I have applied the liners to my paper models above so that you can have a better view of the shades.

Benefit-cosmetics-UK-they're-real-push-up-liner-in-colours-photo-and-styling-by-Little-Big-Bell No longer just black, but in green, blue, brown and purple. Can I say Yay? Yay!!

The good news is that they can now be bought online here and will hit the shops nationwide in the U.K in July.

It’s not only the colour element that I like (my favourite is blue), but the applicator is something special.

Being a lifelong eye-liner wearer and a doctor, I can safely say that I have steady hands when it comes to application, but many of my friends always ask me how to get that perfect line. It’s not always easy with a brush or even the pen devices.

Benefit has developed a special Accuflex tip that allows for a line to be drawn easily. Tried and tested by yours truly, and I love it.

Benefits-cosmetics-they're-real-mascara-in-blue-Little-Big-Bell After the eyeliner, apply some They’re Real mascara and the eyes really look larger and those lashes visibly longer.

No colour neglect here because Benefit has also added brown and blue to their mascara collection.

Benefit-Posie-tint-styling-and-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell I already use Benefit cosmetics in my make up routine. My favourites are High Beam, a liquid highlighter that gives the cheeks and brow bone a radiant glow and Benetint for that rose tint to the lips and cheek.

Last week was National Pink day in the U.S.A and as part of that celebration, I was lucky to receive a little gift from Benefit UK. It was that sweet bottle of Posie Tint.

Such a cute Poppy pink for the lips ( I’ve applied it to my paper models above) and cheeks.

Happiness-planner-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell Love this Happiness planner ( Pink and gold, my favourite colours) and the Rose scented bath petals from Boux avenue. They both came in my Benepink parcel.

Just to mention, the Happiness planner is like a little life coach for happiness in a book, where you can record the goals you want to achieve.

Prismologie-styled-andphoto-by-Little-Big-Bell Moving on to my next colourful find.

I have placed my ‘love’ brass lettering that I bought from West Elm, as my seal of approval, for this next new brand to the market. Prismologie-colourful-boxes-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell Introducing you to Prismologie.

I couldn’t resist shooting this image. The packaging and branding are simply stunning.

Prismologie is a colourful and definitely indulgent body care range. I am liking their social media hashtag ‘Live Life Colourfully’, which really resonates with me.

They have produced the range using the powers of colour known to influence our wellbeing in both a physiological and emotional way.

Each of the products have their own colour range and comprise of a bespoke blend of gemstone crystals and aromatic ingredients.

Prismologie-yellow-day-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell I have tried Prismologie’s Yellow Day body lotion with Citrine extract, and the scent is amazing.

That crisp Bergamot and zesty Citrus definitely wakes the senses.

I think this is the perfect sunshine lift for me early in the morning, before work. It’s great as a daily hydrating moisturiser too.

Prismologie-green-epoch-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell Next is Green Epoch, Prismologie’s bath oil with Vetiver and Jade micro crystals. The crystals gently exfoliates and the Tamanu oil is soothing and mild.

I have tried this and the oils really do soften and moisturise well. Love the gentle lingering of the Vetiver scent after the bath on both the skin and room. Pink-o'clock-Prismologie-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell Lastly, Prismologie’s Pink O’clock hand and cuticle cream made of Rose Quartz micro-crystals and with a Rose fragrance.

The Shea Butter within really softens and moisturises the skin. I now carry this in my bag and use daily. Being a doctor, I am constantly washing my hands between patients and so this is perfect for me. That Rose scent really lifts the mood and eases tension.

Hope you have enjoyed the colourful product reviews. Have a wonderful start to your week.
