Willow ottoman bed As I write this post, my daughter is travelling back from university for a week’s break. She has not yet seen her bedroom revamp, and the new Ottoman bed.

I can’t wait for her to experience her new Button and Sprung Willow Double Ottoman bed in a Pale Rose Linwood Juno fabric.

My daughter, like I, absolutely love pink, hence it was the chosen palette for the room. ottoman bed with storage I’m sure I’m not the only mother who struggles with minimising clutter.

With my daughter being away at university, this was the perfect opportunity to revamp and refresh. Willow ottoman bed from Button and Sprung When I saw this double Willow bed at Button and Sprung’s showroom, I knew it was the one.

Prior to this, my daughter had a white wrought iron bed.

Since she spends a lot of time in bed watching You Tube, Netflix and even writing her essays on the laptop, that wrought iron headboard couldn’t have been that comfortable for her. under bed storage with the Willow ottoman bed That plush pillow headboard on The Willow bed was one of the winning features influencing my choice. Believe me, it’s super comfortable, just like a sofa. Back to the the decluttering. There were books and note folders in the room forming an unsightly pile, which I proceeded to place into storage boxes. These gorgeous heart prints above the fireplace are by Hannah Carvell. The piece de resistance of this Willow Ottoman bed is its storage space under the mattress.

The bed easily opens up with a tug and lift using the pink strap at end of the bed.

The gas strut mechanisms help propel the bed up and holds it in place. Finally, I could hide those storage boxes away, without having to take up more space. So cool right? That plush pillow headboard is so tempting. Now the bedroom is looking spick and span. I can’t wait to see her reaction when she comes home. I’ve also placed some fresh new linen bedding, with a spritz of Lavender to calm the senses. A huge thank you to Button and Sprung for the wonderful ottoman bed that has made my daughter’s room.

laundry efficiently AD. How do I do laundry efficiently? I’ve been grappling with this problem for quite a while.

It seems to be an endless task in our home.

Every time I think I have conquered it, the clothing mountain grows again.

Does this strike a chord with you too?

When I say clothing mountain, I mean the piles of clothing before and after the wash.

This problem is compounded by the task of going up and down 5 floors between my laundry room in the basement and our shower room on the top floor, where laundry is constantly being generated.

I had one of those fabric laundry bags that would topple over when filled with clothes, and hence made my bathroom look messy.

I would lug that bag downstairs for the wash. If I forget to take it back up, then a new mountain of clothes would start to grow on the bathroom floor. Imagine the mess! The struggle is real.

After the wash, I would fold or iron the clothes downstairs in the laundry room and then carry separate piles up to the different rooms.

Although this is great exercise, it’s not what I want to do after a tiring 8 hour shift working at the hospital and definitely not doing the laundry efficiently. laundry efficiently I needed to be more efficient, and thanks to Curver and their Infinity Recycled laundry range, I now have a better system in place.

I’ve had the Infinity storage boxes, baskets and hampers for a few months. I wanted to test them out before writing about my experience.

Doing laundry is now so much more a pleasure.

I have 2 laundry baskets and 2 hampers. I tend to rotate the hampers.

When a wash is in, I would bring the filled hamper downstairs to queue for the next wash, and take the second empty one back up. laundry efficiently The baskets have been wonderful too. I would place my folded clothes into two baskets. There are two bedrooms on each floor, so I’ve allocated one basket for each floor.

No longer is there the chaotic running of up and down the stairs with different piles of clothes.

The baskets have amazing capacity too, and can house at least 3 full loads of folded laundry.

I’ve also used the infinity range storage boxes to organise smaller items of laundry such as small hand towels or folded pillow cases in my laundry cupboard. Last but not least, The Curver Infinity Recycled laundry range is made with 100% Recycled plastic.

Curver is one of the industry leaders in using recycled materials, and are aiming to further increase their use of such materials to 80%.

Their plastic products are designed for longevity, so no throwaway culture of single use plastic. So, what do you think? It’s wonderful how this range has helped me with my busy lifestyle.  I’m definitely doing my laundry in a more ordered fashion now.

How do you do your laundry efficiently? Do you have a system in place? I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Here’s to 2020 being a year of organisation and calm.

stylish storage for the bedroom (AD) It’s not easy to find the perfect stylish storage for the bedroom. I’ve been on the lookout for quite some time.

My criteria was for it be of good quality, look fabulous, be colourful and customisable for size and function.

Although we have two huge wardrobes in our bedrooms, a His and Hers, there was still not enough room.

I needed drawers for my trinkets and handbags, whilst my husband needed drawers for his socks and boxers.

Well, as you can see, the wait was over, with my discovery of Tylko’s smart organisation storage system. tylko-stylish-storage Introducing you to Tylko’s Type 02 bookcase or shelving unit in Forest green and mint. Doesn’t this stylish storage for the bedroom look wonderful? Of course, it doesn’t have to be just for the bedroom, it can be placed elsewhere in the house too.

For once, my husband could heave a sigh of relief as it isn’t pink, the colour that is overtaking our home.

Ordering is so easy. Simply measure out the space that you want your storage to go into. Then, go online to configure it with shelves, drawers and cupboards. I have selected all three features. There is a brilliant digital visual tool to help you see the configuration you have designed. I’ve styled my shelves with my favourite things, previously hidden away. Can you spot my Marimekko mug collection?

The assembly of the shelving unit required 2 people, but it was easy, as the instructions were very clear.

The colour coded connectors between the pieces snap securely into place. No tools or screws were needed. stylish storage for the home shelving It’s a beautiful solid piece of shelving unit. The design is so sleek and seamless.

There’s so much attention to detail, like how the drawers and door handles match the unit colours, and sit flush against the edge. It’s so fun to lie on the bed, and just stare at some of my favourite things. My Tylko type 2 bookcase fits the title of stylish storage for the bedroom don’t you think?

The wonderful thing is that it is flat packed, so you can dismantle and move it around if needed. Mine will be staying firmly in that spot from now on. The only thing that may change is the decor on the shelves.
