Helium-place-card-holder-Little-Big-Bell This Flamingo party balloon post, has been inspired by the Anges De Sucre cake, which I had the pleasure of tasting this weekend, at my friend’s birthday party.

As you can see, I have the Flamingo balloon, but after you see the cake, you’ll agree that I’ll need to add some sparkle to the pink. Flamingo-cake-by-Anges-de-Sucre-Little-Big-Bell Here it is. Stunning right?

Everything I love in a cake, from the colour pink, to the white chocolate drizzle and the macarons.

Aren’t those white chocolate feathers just the perfect finishing touch? Polka-dot-balloons-Little-Big-Bell So here is how I added a touch of sparkle to the pink Flamingo balloons for the party.

You can never go wrong with gold. For many of you who follow me here on the blog, know how much I adore pink and gold.

I decided to paint gold polka dots on white Helium balloons with gold leaf paint. I used the end of a pencil to dab paint onto the balloon. Gold-dotted-balloon-Little-Big-Bell It was so much fun and strangely therapeutic, as I printed little dots onto the white balloons. Gold-polka-dot-Helium-balloons-photo-by-Geraldine-Tan-Little-Big-Bell It really doesn’t matter if the dots are not perfect. The aim is to add sparkle and not perfection. Polka-dot-gold-helium-balloons-Balloon-Time-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell So here they are, all together, held by golden ribbons.

What do you think? It was an easy 10 minute DIY. Flamingo-theme-birthday-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell The pink and gold of the balloons are now ready to accompany the cake.

Is your mouth watering looking at this? Tulips-photo-by-Geraldine-Tan-Little-Big-Bell Add some beautiful Tulips, and we’re ready to party! Balloon-Time-Helium-tank-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell Thanks to my other reliable pink friend, the Balloon Time Helium tank.

So handy to have nearby. Balloons on demand could never have been easier. The tanks are recyclable too. flamingo-balloon-Little-Big-Bell

Hope you have enjoyed this and that it has inspired you to have fun with Helium balloons.

Wishing you a happy mid week.

Superheroes-birthday-party-photo-by-Geraldine-Tan-Little-Big-Bell It was that time of the year again for a birthday party.

I often have all these grand plans for styling a party, but time seems to catch up on me so quickly. Is it like that for you too?

With my busy schedule, it was difficult to plan. I knew it had to be done quickly and somehow still look good.

My son was turning ten and he wanted a sleepover party with some of his best pals.

I decided at 2 weeks before, that I should at least send some ‘save the date’ emails. His party was during the Easter break.

I didn’t bother with fancy invitations and that worked really well.

The replies came back quickly and totally put me at ease, because I knew no matter how the party turned out, his friends will be there.

Time then passed since the email invites, and I still hadn’t decided on the party theme.

It was lucky how things worked out in the end.

My son loves the DC Comic heroes, and I was over the moon to find out that the ‘Superman vs Batman’ film was being released around the same time as his party.

Even better, a brand new cinema had recently opened up on our local high street and was showing the film.

So it was going to be a Superheroes birthday party.

At one week before the party, I quickly ordered some party ware online. I kept my fingers crossed that they would arrive on time, and luckily they did, with a day to go.

My final saving grace was the Balloon Time Helium tank I had at home. The ability to blow up Helium balloons at short notice meant that the decor and party games were sorted.

I inflated 10 Helium balloons to match my son’s age, all in bright Superhero colours ( image above). Such a simple and effective way to decorate the display table. Super-hero-party-photo-by-Geraldine-Tan I arranged the words Happy Birthday on a light box I had previously purchased from Molly Meg. The superhero theme party boxes were from Party Pieces. superhero-party-by-Little-Big-Bell I loved the smell of popcorn popping in the microwave. We placed them in these cool ‘Pop!’ holders and carried them all in a large box to the cinema.

I also decorated these Fruit Shoot bottles with super hero stickers. I thought the boys would appreciate drinking Hero Juice. M&Ms-cake-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell My son got the Salted caramel birthday cake he requested. I decorated the cake with colourful M&M chocolates to keep the bright colour theme going. Chalk-drawing-balloons-photo-by-Geraldine-Tan-Little-Big-Bell Remember I mentioned how the Balloon Time Helium tank was a saving grace?

Well, it really helped with last minute party games.

I inflated a few black balloons and gave the kids chalk pens to decorate them with.

Here, you can see my son designing a few Superhero images. balloon-drawing Here they are on display. Batman-vs-superman-party-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell Another fun last minute activity was to decorate the balloons with stickers.  Batman-vs-superman-balloons-superheroes-birthday-party-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell Here they are.

Who is your favourite, Superman or Batman?

The party went really well. The kids enjoyed the film thoroughly. We took them for ice cream after the show as we walked home.

The boys had fun playing other games too. The Nerf gun battles up and down the stairs and X-Box games were also winners.

After dinner, the boys settled down for their sleepover. The basement family room was covered in mattresses.

They watched Wolverine on DVD before all falling asleep. Balloon-Time-Helium-UK-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell The next morning after the boys had some home made pancakes for breakfast, I decided to inflate more Helium balloons. super-hero-balloons-race-Little-Big-Bell Here they are, all inflated and ready for a ………….. Balloon-race-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell Balloon Race. Birthday-take-home-treats-photo-by-Geraldine-Tan-Little-Big-Bell A party is not a party without the going home party treats.
Party-going-home-gifts-super-heroes-photo-by-Geraldine-Tan-Little-Big-Bell Some of the treats were packed in these thank you boxes. They were party boxes from last year’s Laser tag party, but seem to fit in well with this year’s theme and colours. Balloons-hero-party That was my last minute superheroes birthday party preparation.

Hope you’ve enjoyed reading about it. Wishing you a wonderful week ahead.

Balloons-The-Stylist-magazine-1-event-London-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell Christmas may be over, but the season of gifting never ends. Valentine’s day is round the corner, then there’s Easter, and the list goes on.

I love shopping for gifts, so this is music to my ears. However, it’s also lovely to be the recipient of a surprise gift.

There’s something about Helium balloons that always bring joy and smiles. Perhaps it’s that childhood memory of fun days out, or the anticipation of parties to come.

I thought it would be fun to create a post on how to create a gift surprise with balloons.

I used my portable Balloon Time helium tank at home to inflate 4 pink balloons.

For the gift wrap, I used some recycled colourful fabric.

Here’s the simple idea:

Attach a Helium balloon to each corner of the fabric with double sided tape or staples, then fold the cloth over to cover the gift like an envelope.

Tie the sequin balloon strings together in the middle with a bow. Then place it all somewhere for that unexpected surprise. Balloon-time-gift-Little-Big-Bell How nice it must be to untie that bow to reveal …. Pink-Anemone-flowers-with-Mimosa-for-Valentine's-day-photo-by-Little-Big-Bell A pretty posy of freshly cut flowers, wrapped in kraft paper. Add a sprinkling of confetti for colour. Valentine's-day-flower-ideas-by-Geraldine-Tan-Little-Big-Bell Place those floral blooms in water. Valentine's-day-ideas-Little-Big-Bell And why not re-use that fabric with the attached balloons to display the flowers as a vignette. Valentine's-day-with-Balloon-time-by-Little-Big-Bell Add a sparkly heart for Valentine’s day.  Balloon-time-Helium-tank-1-Little-Big-Bell There you have it, a simple to create fabric and balloon wrap for gifts.

Having that Helium Balloon Time tank at home means I can create surprise gifts any time.

Hope you have enjoyed the post. Have a lovely weekend.
