My pink woven cane chair from PLEASE WAIT to be SEATED

When I spot something that I love, I simply can’t get it out of my head, and PLEASE WAIT to be SEATED is one such brand.

They are a young Danish design company since 2014, and owned by Thomas Ibsen and Peter Mahler-Sørensen.

Their goal is to introduce design that have a potential of becoming future classics.

The AHM chair is one such future classic, and I’m so happy to say that I’m now the proud owner of one.

Can you spot it in my workspace above?woven-cane-chair-rattanAt the start of 2019, I noticed from the trade shows that woven cane (rattan) furniture was a big trend, and PLEASE WAIT to be SEATED was definitely a front runner with their cane chair. The AHM chair comes in a range of colours, mine is Indian Red, a gorgeous deep pinky tone.

It was designed by Isabel Ahm.Isn’t it beautiful?

The curves are shaped from three pieces of interconnected wood, combining the sleek lines of 1950s Danish design with a contemporary angle. You may wonder why the name PLEASE WAIT to be SEATED ?

I was curious to find out more.

They said the name summed up who they were: “polite people with a keen interest in interior, with a sense of humour and both feet firmly on the ground”.

I think that’s a great way to describe their ethos and it’s definitely unique.I’m currently sitting on my AHM cane chair as I write this, and I can say hand on heart that it is so comfortable.

The rattan webbing is firm but keeps the pressure equally distributed when seated.

The smooth curve back is wonderful as support when leaning back.

I absolutely love the feel of the arms too.cane chairIt’s such an elegant chair viewed from all angles. cane-chair-rattan-chairDo check out PLEASE WAIT to be SEATED ‘s site. They have so many other inspirational designs.

I will be showing you one of their other iconic pieces soon.

See if you can guess what it is? Hint:  It’s not a chair. Can’t wait to reveal it soon.

Hope you’ve enjoyed the post, have a lovely day all.

( The AHM was a gift for review. )
